Prairie View, Texas - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions suffered a 35-12 loss against Prairie View A&M in Southwestern Athletic Conference action at Panther Stadium behind quarterback Neiko Hollins who threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns. Golden Lions third-string quarterback Marcus Terrell got the start and passed for 236 yards on 19-of-41 passing. He also rushed for 21 yards on five carries.

The Panthers (4-5, 3-3 SWAC) jumped out to a 21-6 lead at the half thanks to a 70-yard touchdown pass from Hollins to Khadarel Hodge. UAPB scored back-to-back field goals from kicker/punter Jamie Gillan, who scored from 31 and 36 yards out. Before the half ended, linebacker Jontavis Testa forced a turnover and picked up his first collegiate career interception.

In the second half, Hollins connected with Hodge for yet another long touchdown, this time for 88 yards. UAPB answered back late in the fourth quarter as Terrell found Kolby McNeal in the end zone, but the comeback attempt was a little too late for the Golden Lions (2-8, 1-5 SWAC) who suffered its sixth straight loss of the season.

The ground game for the Golden Lions struggled all afternoon and was almost nonexistent as speedy running back KeShawn Williams was held to just 22 yards on eight carries while bruiser running back Dante McDonald was also limited to just 34 yards on 10 carries.

Tight end Jeremy Brown led UAPB with 55 yards on four catches while teammate Williams caught five passes for 38 yards.

The Golden Lions football team returns to action on Saturday, November 18 as it hosts Texas Southern University in the season finale at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. in Little Rock.
