UGa's Ken Malcome 'not too happy with situation' at tailback

Malcome actually began the season as the starting tailback. The redshirt sophomore from Decatur has appeared in 10 of the Bulldogs' 13 games, averaging 27.2 yards and 5 carries in those contests.

As Georgia prepares for its Jan. 1 date with Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl, Malcome is not sure what his future is with the team or in football in general.

"I'm not too happy with that situation," Malcome said following Georgia's practice Thursday afternoon. "But like I said to the coaches, I'm a player and I'm going to do what they tell me to. I've got two more years of football, then I don't know. We're going to see what happens. . . . I'm not sure at all what I'm going to do."

Malcome has been down this road before. He actually left the team for one day in 2011 when freshman Isaiah Crowell emerged as the primary ball-carrier...

Missouri freshman safety Ka'ra Stewart was arrested yesterday on suspicion of possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana, University of Missouri police captain Brian Weimer said. Officers requested to search Stewart's dorm room at South Hall at 11:08 a.m. after detecting a suspicious odor. Stewart, 18, did not consent to a search. Officers obtained a search warrant and later found Stewart in possession of a small amount of a green leafy substance. As the search continued, police found four baggies containing the same substance, which later tested positive for marijuana.

Stewart was arrested and taken into custody at Boone County Jail. He posted $500 bail. Stewart, from O'Fallon, redshirted last season.

Athlon: How Alabama's 2012 Championship Team Ranked as High School Recruits

A.J. McCarron, QB (2009) AC100
The lanky passer was the No. 8-rated QB prospect in the nation and was the No. 97 overall player in the '09 Athlon Consensus 100. Bad chest tattoo aside, Bama landed a good one when it beat out Miami, Ole Miss and Oklahoma for the Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul's passer.

Eddie Lacy, RB (2009) AC100
The burly runner from Geismar (La.) Dutchtown was the No. 5-rated player in The Pelican State. Lacy was the No. 93-rated overall player in the AC100 and was the No. 11-rated running back behind names like Trent Richardson, Cierre Wood, Lamar Miller and Christine Michael. He picked Alabama over Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Mississippi State. Interestingly enough, LSU didn't offer the in-state prospect. He was a four-star prospect by Rivals.com.

Barrett Jones, C (2008) National Recruit
This Memphis (Tenn.) Evangelical Christian stud was the No. 1 prospect in the state of Tennessee (which included Dont'a Hightower), the No. 17 offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 146-rated player nationally regardless of position. He possessed offers from nearly everyone in the southeast but visited only Alabama, Florida and North Carolina. Jones helped Nick Saban sign the nation's No. 1 class in 2008.
