He didnt even have possession or time to call a timeout. The refs suck

Good job Fort. Completely out of control again.

that's what he needs.  You can't go into a game without a lot of playing time and expect to become the best player on the court in a matter of minutes.

My bad. I mistakenly thought he PLAYED THE WHOLE LAST FRIGGIN YEAR! He is not a "rookie". And not only that... I'm not hoping for him to be the best player on the court. He handles the ball so much, just don't be the WORST one!!!

most of us pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off,
and proceed as if nothing happened.

I have never in my life seen a PG get absoultly no calls when he is dribbling till I saw CF play.  Just don't understand why he can't get the calls

Fortson has more turnovers than assists in the first half.  He has four assists and five or six turnovers.

WHen he drives down low he tries too hard to dribble around players instead of trying to create contact.

Great job...putting words into my mouth.  I know he played all year and i NEVER called him a ''rookie''.  The fact is, he hadn't seen game action until the Texas game.  You can't expect him to get back into the starting line up and him help us win every game.  If you do, go root for someone else because it's impossible to put that on a 20 year old kids back like that.

These REFS are SOOOO frustrating

Fortson is getting MUGGED - no foul.

Farmer wiggles his fingers - foul

What a DISGRACE of OFFICIATING.

A fair called game and we'd be up by 10.

no way.  some of that 'out of control' would be called a foul (where he gets to shoot) if he was any other PG in the nation

SERIOUSLY REFS why do yall have fortson?  what do you have against him? do you read hogville or something?!?!?!

He gets contact all the time, enough to knock him off his line.  Yes, he is out of control at times, but he never gets the benefit of the calls like other PG's.  I like the fact he plays through it and he doesn't let it bother him to much, but maybe he does need to create more contact.

SEC refs are just bad, period. Ignoring any kind of bias, just watch SEC basketball and you'll see nothing but horrible calls being made.

He's a Sophmore that's played 2 games this year.

Stop being so frickin critical, Fort will be lucky to hit midseason form by Vandy.

Part of it, he's only gonna get better, I promise.

The refs aren't going to call fouls when Fortson is wild and jumping into defenders. Don't blame them for his flaws.

Not looking too good?  hm...i could have swore Arkansas is a 2nd half team......bc they're definitely not a 1st half team...

You know why we arent getting the calls? Anthony grant at the beginning of the game got all up in the refs face. After that we havent been getting the calls. There are alot of calls being made but they are not being made consistantly on both ends of the floor

Looked like one of the Bama players was hurt on the bench. Couldn't make out who it was though.

Not a great half, but not terrible either.

let's go in the 2nd half Hogs!

BigSexyHog

Not a bad 1st half,  kinda disappointed after the 8-0 start.  Lot better shape then against Miss St.  Hopefully we get a couple of early runs and make Bama play catch up in the 2cd.

I am always ready for Hog Ball!

The football season has no bearing on my excitement for basketball season to begin.

I know I'm in the minority, but I rank Hog basketball above Hog football every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Has a lot to do with the era in which I grew up, but for me personally there is just nothing better than watching the Hogs run up and down the court!
Woo Pig Sooiee!  Can't wait for the season to tip off.  I'm hoping for a much more competitive team this season.

I don't think 'not getting in the refs face' is a problem of Pel's. In fact, I've seen people say many times that he goes off too hard on the refs and that's why we don't get some calls.

Me, I think SEC refs are just incompetent.

We have got to rebound better on both ends of the court
or
We must press like Nolan's teams used to.

We must do one or the other.

Ridiculously fast jump ball call.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."
