It looks like he won't be getting the HC job at SMU.  What are the chances he joins the staff here now?  He was the recruiter of the year when with the Longhorns.

blueridger

   chances are very good

PorkRinds

He was at the presser so I'd say really good. And we need him. He's a great recruiter.

downsouthhawg72

I thought he was here for CCM Introduction Press Conference.

He was, but he hasn't officially joined the staff yet.  Many thought he would be the next SMU HC, but that appears to not be the case now.

I'm not sure this is accurate. He was a candidate but I don't think many at all thought he would really get the job.

porque

Football Scoop said that he will have lots of options with Arkansas and all of the Texas schools.

wpswillriseagain

Has Jimbo put a staff in place?

Oklahawg

I believe he is a target for CCM's staff.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. he'll be a Hog!  the   guy is  the perfect fit and the chemistry between him and the rest of the staff is beyond excellent.

Jones3744

I sure hope he heads to the hill. He has great relationships with Northeast Texas coaches. There is a hotbed of talent in that corner of Texas

mj4president

He won't be here, only would be if named OC, that ship has sailed.

Perhaps we can sweeten the pot with a Co-OC/AHC title.

You have no clue. Why was he here for th introductory presser? Just for fun?

oxhog24

He wasn't the OC at SMU....why would that be an issue now?

rzrbk4life

Hope CCM can add him to the staff this year. Big time recruiter

Danny West is reporting he's already told SMU that if he doesn't get the HC spot, he will be following Morris to Arkansas.

He was a recruiting guru at Texas and was just the tight ends coach. He would be a great asset to the staff there on the hill

Dude has a high school football field named after him in east Texas. Would be a huge get!
Arkansas Football: It's the players running through the A, Hog Hats, and Big Red. It's more than 70,000 fans calling, "WOO PIG SOOIE!"

Arkansas Football: It's the State of Arkansas banding together behind one team, and a mascot like no other. Those select few who put on the jersey are... chosen. They wear the colors, they pay the price, and they succeed. They are exceptional, they are Razorbacks.

Together we stand as tall as the towers of Old Main. Our memories are etched in stone like names on Senior Walk. And our blood flows Razorbacks Red. For 100 years we've been Hogwild and today we continue the tradition.

We are Arkansas Razorbacks!

If we can't recruit Texas at a high level with Morris and Traylor, then we need to give up, lol.  Those two are Texas legends.

Jeff Traylor is a big deal in Texas.  Arguably more popular than Morris.

He even has a stadium named after him.

He's also regarded as one of the best recruiters in the country.

I'm not sure Arkansas has had an elite recruiter?  I guess Sam Pittman was up there but can't think of anyone else.

TX HOG

Yeah. I lived 30 years in Tyler just recently moved to Bentonville. He's definitely known in East Texas and has still young(ish). When we hired CCM I was almost just as excited about Traylor coming. We've never had a national recruiter of the year come to Fayetteville

Dropkick

ESPN saying Dykes has been hired at SMU. Should know soon on Traylor.

TX HOG

I don't see why he wouldn't come unless he just doesn't want to. With him it can't be about money
