Coaches have a responsibility to bring players on campus who are not threatening to the community. Les Miles fails in this regard a lot.

LSU is on a roll.  4 different players arrested, QB included.  Great people.

Says Lealaimatafao has had 3 off field incidents, & 2 arrests in one year.  He also punched the victim's girlfriend in the face. Unless he gets some pressure,  Miles will probably do next to nothing to any of them, as usual.  Unless they are incarcerated.....most (or all) of them will be back on the team for the first practice.

#LSU defensive lineman accused of punching woman, robbing man http://www.nola.com/crime/baton-rouge/index.ssf/2015/06/lsu_defensive_lineman_accused.html ...

QuoteLSU defensive lineman Trey Lealaimatafao was arrested Tuesday and accused of punching a woman and robbing a man in Reggie's Bar parking lot in Tigerland.

A male victim, according to a Baton Rouge police report, was beaten unconscious and robbed by several unknown suspects. However, Lealaimatafao allegedly began digging through the victim's pockets while he was still unconscious.

The victim's girlfriend reportedly yelled for Lealaimatafao to stop digging through his pockets.

"When she approached him, he pushed her away," the report said. "She continued to scream at him to stop and (Lealaimatafao) hit her in the face, with a closed fist, causing her to fall to the ground."

Then, Lealaimatafao allegedly threatened her and continued to dig through the victim's pocket. When police arrived, Lealaimatafao fled the scene, the report said.

Lealaimatafao has been booked with attempted simple robbery and simple battery.

LSU Sports and Information Director Michael Bonnette said Lealaimatafao has been suspended indefinitely from the football team. Bonnette said there would be no other comment at this time.

Nearly one year ago, Lealaimatafao was arrested after he stole a bicycle from the loading dock area of LSU's Middleton Library. About three weeks after the bike theft, Lealaimatafao suffered an arm injury after he punched a window between the team's weight room and indoor practice facility.

#LSU QB Anthony Jennings, 2 other FB players arrested @lsufball, @geauxtigers http://s.nola.com/2nuA2X  via @nolanews

QuoteLSU quarterback Anthony Jennings, along with defensive lineman Maquedius Bain and defensive back Dwayne Thomas, was arrested earlier this week and booked with unauthorized entry of a dwelling and simple burglary, according to an LSU Police report.

"We have suspended these players," LSU football coach Les Miles said in a statement Thursday night (June 18). "It has been our policy to suspend players who have been involved with legal issues. I have met with all three players involved extensively. We are still working with campus housing and the authorities to determine what exactly took place. This is an on-going investigation and our players will cooperate fully."

On June 10, Jennings filed a complaint to police, saying that an unknown person entered his apartment and stole a MacBook Air laptop, PlayStation 4 console and three pairs of shoes. The laptop, according to the report, was back in Jennings' possession three days later. Jennings told authorities that he got the laptop back from Bain.

Bain claims in the police report he obtained the laptop from an individual who purchased it from an LSU student. The report says Nicholas Anderson was in possession of Jennings' laptop after the burglary took place. Anderson told authorities he bought the laptop from a man nicknamed "Doodarman" for $150 a day after Jennings reported the laptop stolen. Anderson was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property.

On the morning of June 12, Jennings approached an unidentified individual -- Anderson's roommate -- and asked about his stolen laptop, according to LSU police. The individual denied any knowledge and after returning from an early morning class to his apartment, the individual heard his front door open behind him, the report said.

When he looked back, he saw Jennings, Bain and Thomas coming through his front door, the report said.

The individual told police he did not know why those three men were in his West Campus apartment and he did not invite them in.

While inside, Bain and Thomas confronted the individual with their arms crossed and standing close to him, while Jennings stood by the door, the report said.

Bain and Thomas reportedly told the individual "give us his stuff back" and "not to wait until the situation got out of control." The individual denied having any of Jennings' property and allowed Bain and Thomas to search his room for the missing items. The two, however, did not locate any of Jennings' items, the report said.

As the individual then left for another class, Bain, Thomas and Jennings followed him out of his apartment. According to the arrest report, Jennings told the individual that "If I don't have my s*** back at 2 p.m., it's going to be something."

The individual told authorities that he felt threatened and intimidated by Jennings' comment...

In that updated story, Nick Anderson has been cited for felony possession of stolen things (Jennings' laptop) http://bit.ly/1I35Ub1  #LSU

Heather McClelland

QuoteA day after four LSU football players were arrested and placed on indefinite suspension in two separate incidents, their lawyers denied some of the allegations and LSU leaders condemned the "bad decisions" made by the athletes.

"They're young adults, but they also have to make the right choices," LSU President and Chancellor F. King Alexander said after Thursday's arrests of quarterback Anthony Jennings, cornerback Dwayne Thomas and defensive lineman Maquedius Bain. "If they can't do that, then maybe they should be somewhere else."

Attorneys Tommy Damico and Brent Stockstill said they disagree with some of the allegations that Jennings, Thomas and Bain busted into an LSU student's room last Friday and stole his belongings.

"We believe (the police report) is inaccurate in a lot of aspects and we are gathering the evidence to prove that," said Stockstill, who couldn't specify which details he believes are wrong in the warrant. "What I'm telling you is, is if for some reason the (district attorney) files these same charges in criminal court, we'd deny them and proceed to trial."

Jennings, Bain and Thomas face counts of unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling for allegedly going into the room of Nicholas Anderson, an LSU student they believed stole Jennings' laptop, police records show. Thomas also was booked on simple burglary in the case, in which Anderson's shoes and game system were allegedly taken out of his room in the West Campus Apartments. The three players bonded out of the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Thursday night.

Anderson was cited Sunday for felony possession of stolen things for a laptop, said LSU representative Ernie Ballard. Stockstill found that move "unusual," he said, adding, "I'm not sure why LSU police gave him the equivalent of a traffic ticket."

Anderson did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

Another LSU football player, defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao, was arrested earlier Thursday in an unrelated investigation into a fight in a parking lot near Reggie's Bar on Tuesday. A court document alleges Lealaimatafao dug into an unconscious man's pockets as he lay on the ground after being beaten by an unknown person. Lealaimatafao is also accused of punching the man's girlfriend in the face when she told him to stop.

Darin Adams, the owner of Reggie's Bar, said he knew little about the incident but denied it happened outside his business, citing its shared parking lot among several establishments.

Damico and Stockstill couldn't comment on Lealaimatafao's charges of attempted simple robbery and simple battery in the case because the player was still in jail as of midday Friday and the lawyers haven't spoken to him yet.

The alleged bar fight and apparent break-in are separate, said Stockstill, who added he and Damico met with Jennings, Bain and Thomas before turning them in to authorities Thursday just after learning of the players' arrest warrants.

"We're waiting for the criminal process to proceed. We're waiting to see whether or not the district attorney's office will follow up on, or will file formal charges based upon the arrest warrants," Stockstill said.

LSU was having such a great spring, then summer football hit - arrests: http://bit.ly/1NbxCSJ

QuoteOMAHA, Neb. – LSU was enjoying a wonderful cap to one of its best spring sports seasons in history Thursday on a gorgeous afternoon here...

And then, the LSU football program – coming off an 8-5 season that pales in comparison to the above sports' purple and gold brightness – reared its ugly off season head once again.

Another player arrest, and this one involved violence against a woman, which is the wrong way to keep up with current events in the NFL. Trey Lealaimatafao, a 300-pound redshirt freshman defensive lineman from San Antonio, was arrested on a felony charge of attempted simple robbery and a misdemeanor charge of simple battery of a woman.

Lealaimatafao tried to pickpocket a man who was unconscious in the parking lot near Reggie's bar after 2 a.m. on June 16. He is not a suspect in that man's assault, but Lealaimatafao was apparently not trying to revive him, either, according to Baton Rouge Police witnesses.

"He began digging in his pants," Baton Rouge police spokesman Don Coppola told Gannett Louisiana on Friday. "Then when the woman approached, we're told he hit her."

What a guy!

Lealaimatafao was released from East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on Thursday on a bond of $15,000, according to a jail spokesman. He was immediately suspended indefinitely by LSU football coach Les Miles.

Then later Thursday, news broke of three other LSU football players being arrested by LSU Police for felony unauthorized entry of another LSU student's residence at West Campus Apartments. The three players were junior starting quarterback Anthony Jennings of Marietta, Georgia, sophomore defensive lineman Maquedius Bain of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and junior defensive back Dwayne Thomas of New Orleans. Thomas was also charged with felony burglary.

All three were bailed out later Thursday – Thomas for $10,000 and Bain and Jennings for $5,000 each, according to a jail spokesman.

Jennings told LSU Police he was taking back items previously stolen from him by the student, Nick Anderson. The items were a Macbook Air notebook computer which can be worth several hundred dollars to $1,000, a PlayStation 4, which can cost a few hundred dollars, and three pairs of shoes. Anderson has been charged with felony possession of stolen goods as well, according to LSU Police.

All three players were suspended indefinitely by Miles, who is no longer waiting to suspend players as much as he once did when he used that aggravating coach catchphrase – "We're going to let the legal system play out." Of course, Miles has had more than a dozen players arrested on various charges since 2010 alone. So he knows the drill.

"It has been our policy to suspend players who have been involved with legal issues," he said in a prepared statement that he is getting used to having prepared for him. "This is an ongoing investigation, and our players will cooperate fully."

Miles has dealt with police so often he is starting to sound like one. One usually only hears "ongoing investigation" from public information officers like Coppola — not a football coach.

The incident with Jennings, Thomas and Bain sounds more juvenile than anything, and they should only be suspended briefly. Their charges are not of the violent nature such as those of former players Jordan Jefferson and Jeremy Hill. Jefferson should have been suspended for longer in 2011, and Hill should have been kicked off the team before the 2013 season. Lealaimatafao should be kicked off now.

Who are these guys? Jefferson kicks a near-unconscious guy in the head while he's down, and Lealaimatafao tries to rob an unconscious man? How about a fair fight? How about a fair mugging? At least wait until they're standing.

As Miles has continued his catch-and-release program of suspend and bring back, those above him at LSU sounded as fed up with all these arrests as many fans and alumni are...

No surprise.  Nothing needs to change until the time gets close for fall practice & the season.   Normal procedure, would then indicate....that suspensions will have been lifted, & they are all changed individuals.

DT Trey Lealaimatafao runs out of chances with LSU football team. Coach Les Miles dismisses him:

http://bit.ly/1GLsZdT

QuoteLSU freshman defensive lineman Trey Lealaimatafao of San Antonio has been kicked off the team following his arrest on June 16 on a charge of hitting a woman.

Lealaimatafao, 18, allegedly pushed and punched a woman in the face in the parking lot outside Reggie's bar near the LSU campus, according to Baton Rouge Police. The woman was trying to get Lealaimatafao to stop going through the pockets of her boyfriend, who was unconscious and lying in the parking lot.

"He began digging in his pants. Then when the woman approached, we're told he hit her," Baton Rouge Police spokesman Don Coppola said at the time of the arrest.

The 6-foot-0, 300-pound Lealaimatafao was charged on June 16 with attempted simple battery of the woman and attempted simple robbery of the man – both misdemeanors – by Baton Rouge Police.

"Trey is no longer a member of our football team," Miles said in a statement through the LSU Sports Information Department. "We have gathered information on this incident, and we feel it is best for us to part ways."

QuoteThe Fulmer Cup season starts the minute the national title game is finished [January 9, 12:11 AM] and ends the day before the first day of the season [August 28th].

Fulmer Cup was started by Spencer Hall and the folks over at Everday Should Be Saturday nearly a decade ago as a way to mock then-Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer's history of player arrests. The rules have historically been flexible, with changes made as players continue to do, and get arrested for, progressively idiotic, illegal, moral, and disturbing things. (Please no cannibalism this year, please no cannibalism.) This culminated in 2013 with the arrest of several Vanderbilt players for the rape of a fellow student, an act heinous enough to make EDSBS retire the award. It was...bad.

That's where /r/CFB comes in - we volunteered to take over the tabulating and, thanks to all you snitches, had a record year in monitoring with 118 recorded incidences!

Dear Friends,

I want to report to you that I met with Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher, the assistant coaches and the Florida State University football team this afternoon.

In light of recent off-field incidents, I reiterated to our players that they simply cannot put themselves in situations that reflect poor behavior or cause harm to others. They must remember that playing football for FSU is a privilege, not a right. The actions of a few have the capacity to do serious damage to the reputation of our entire university. I told them their coaches, the Athletics administration and I will do all we can to support them and help them learn the values we expect them to uphold. But they will be held accountable for their actions.

I also told the coaches what is expected of them. The administration will support them in their efforts to provide mentors, teach life skills and do whatever is needed to help our student-athletes be good students and good citizens. Coach Fisher and Athletics Director Stan Wilcox are developing a strong plan to help our student-athletes understand the consequences of poor behavior. As they move forward with that plan, I will continue to communicate with you regarding steps that will be taken. I will also invite professionals who deal with these matters to visit the team soon.

As I've said before, the vast majority of our student-athletes are good students and positive role models who contribute to their university and their communities. But the actions of a very few are tarnishing the reputation of our outstanding institution. We need to do better, and I want to assure you changes will be made to address these concerns.

There are so many incredible things happening at Florida State University in academics and athletics. That's a headline we'd all like to see.

Sincerely,

John Thrasher
