DB coach? Not sure. Someone young and energetic.

If Aaron Henry hadn't just taken a job at NC State, could've been him.

I doubt he would leave ASU when he coaches his son who is a senior and his daughter is a freshman on the basketball team.

I think we are going to have to wait and see who CRS 'steals' from us.  Please...please...please...don't be our DL coach.  :)

LOL.  Or LB coach.  Please don't take these guys from us.  What would we do?

Worse than this hire?

Would be a great hire with his success in the NFL running the 3-4

Smalltownhog95

Maybe Paul keeps coaching the DB's and we hire a ST coordinator? I don't expect it to happen but it'd be nice.
Wait a minute this isn't chinese checkers.. This isn't even regular checkers!

More likely to be our 10th coach IMO

GoHogs90210 should be along shortly with a list of people we should target.

Maybe we replace Hargreaves also

EC has OLB experience..... come in handy in the 3-4...

The 10th coach wouldn't be available until at least summer. The chancellors and presidents have to vote and they don't vote on it until April.

AUSTXHOG

You think Chris Ball would leave Memphis DC position to fill a position on defense here?  He coached under Rhoads at Pitt.

Exactly, Which is why it will probably go to as SP coach.

A SP Coach doesn't have to game plan or review opponents at the level a defensive assistant will. 15 to 20 player per game vs 70 with multiple keys off those plays.

The most sense would be Patridge. He's a DL/ST coach. You bring him in and on the books as the DE/ST coach.
Segrest can coach DTs and "specialists" until he finds another job. Then Partidge takes over.
Rhoads coaches entire secondary
Replace Hargreaves with someone such as Al Golden or Tony Grantham.
When the 10th coach kicks in Either a DB coach to help Rhoads or a Swiss Army knife like a Tuberville.. if Segrest leaves do both.

I know previously CBB has said he doesn't like to split Dline coach. I would think that an OLB/SP coach would make more sense

That would go with the Tony Grantham name. Switching to a 3 man front you'd only need 1 dline coach. Having Segrest just coaching the DTs would just be giving him a slight boot in the direction of the door.
But on the other hand it could also put 2 coaches focusing on the weakest part of the defense the past 2 years.

I'm guessing it is unlikely someone gets the Co-DC title.  May see an Asst. HC or Recruiting Co added to get someone some extra money though.

What's in a title? I remember I had a friend who worked at a bank, he was an Asst VP and got a promotion to Ex VP. I asked him if he got a raise, nope just a name change.

I got burned on that thought earlier in my career. Bank was bought and they asked me to drop my title one slot but wouldn't drop my pay. Think I even got a raise. Year later bank sold again and my previous title was awarded double the stock options.

Go figure....

Most of the time I would say it is no big deal because those added titles are just about getting some more money.  After the last few years our defense needs an identity and you can't have that with multiple people carrying around the coordinator title.

I bet Rhoads has a heavy say in the next hire. Might see Patridge not come on board until the 10th coach position is approved. Next hire gets to be Rhoads.

If I have read it correctly, when we added Anderson it was Dan Enos who was working behind the scenes in that direction. There is a good relationship between Enos and Anderson, for sure.

We should have hired Raymond Woodie when he interviewed the first time and we hired Hargreaves.  Let's hope he is still interested as he is currently unemployed after not being retained by Strong

Well the chancellors and presidents of the You of A should get off their assis and work for a change...  Perhaps they could do just a little extra for a change LMAO

Considering how long it took to promote from within for the D.C. Spot, I wouldn't get in any hurry for this.

sorry, just saw your post above.. that would be awesome ...

never mind, I just read the entire thread... back to my original question.. are you hearing his name?
