If you go back to EVERY Spring... el-DorkMeister has always talked a big game.  Talked about how great they will be passing, hyping something, and only to reach fall to have his 6 play Junior High playbook to be the norm.

Oh and wait until Ole Miss get's their jollies waching a rehearsed, scripted and a Houston Nutt Production of Fiction for a Spring Game.

hogfanshan

I will not be too surprised if Nutt has a pretty good season this first year or two...especially with someone else's players. Afterall, he had 2 decent seasons when he arrived here. Clint Stoerner was already developed...much like Sneed.

Hawgz4Life

Does anyone know if Nutty offered the traditional "National Championship Under Construction" drivel when he did his "meet the coach" presser?

'He can move. He’s better than what I’ve had the past few years.'

And better than you'll have after Snead leaves after the "Nuttin But Fun" offense takes hold in Oxford.

Yup. Par for the retarded course.

I don't remember him saying it. Maybe because he knows where he his, and he knows that NO ONE could promise that in Oxford.

I'm not a Casey Dick fan, I don't think he will get it done.  But it would be so nice to see him come out this year and throw for about 3,500 yards.  It would be such an indictment of the Dale.  Imagine all the interviews where they would talk about the difference in coaching he is getting now and on and on.   The Dale would probably explode down in Oxford listening to all of it.

go hogues

That quote better get get stapled to the wall in the indoor practice fields, preferably in the area where the QB's warm up.

Jevan Snead lost out at Texas to Colt McCoy and Colt struggled mightily his first year.  I'm not too worried about Jevan, especially with that prick coaching him.

Is this a jab at Mitch?

He's better because the Nutt factor has yet to take effect.  Give it a little time and the Ole Miss fans will be wondering what happened to Snead.

OTTER

I'll bet that before the spring game, ole Nutt will announce that they are cutting down the playbook to things the offense can handle, like smoke draws, hand-offs, and three yard screen passes.  It seemed like every year he was streamlining the playbook-----from 6 plays to 3!!!!

Ha, ha, ha...exactly.  When he said he's learning to grasp the playbook, maybe what he really meant is that he is learning the Nutt mindthink that a QB is a glorified ball handler to get the ball to a TB by a dramatically telegraphed handoff.

So basically, good ol' HootenDale is saying that Snead is better than anything he could personally recruit?  As long as this is slanted toward HootenDale being inept and lackadaisical, I'll agree with him.  ;)

Just when I was letting it all slide past my consciousness...

Bingo...the Dork strikes again. Now all of you who sided with him, just remember how much he LOVED the helmet. He did not need to make that comment, but when someone has their head up their arse, they are liable to say anything. He is on one team and one team only.......the same team he was on for 10 years at Arkansas......he is on HDN's team. Everyone else is just cannon fodder. I am so glad this moron is gone.

I haven't read this whole thread.

Hawgon...I doubt that CD will throw for 3,500 yds. But I do think he will probably start and throw for a bunch.

Petrino said in a recent article that we should not ever ..meaning..not just this year....expect "Louisville" type numbers at Arkansas...because we are in the SEC and there are better players and defenses. Petrino said "We will put up enough points to win."

On Houston Nutt...I just have this to say to him...let us see what transpires when we play them. Let us see who ends up doing better. And if Jevan Snead has to throw on 3rd and 10 a lot...well...I imagine he won't be tearing it up.
Likewise..if Snead has his best receivers out for the season with injuries...let us see how he does.

And people said Casey was Nutt's "boy"....yeah right.

I don't think Nutt has any idea what he said. He just says what he does for the sake of the sound bite. He didn't say anything about the offense, which indicates there isn't anything there to talk about and apparently the defense isn't in shape enough to stay up for the whole practice.

Well that weight will help in his blocking when he is sent out wide, to make room for the "Wild-Dork" offense.  IMO without McFadden's talents....it will be a "Mild-Dork" offense when run by someone else.

i don't think it was a shot at anyone.  i think he meant he is more mobile than what he has had the last couple of years.

Do you guys honestly think that Nutt is smart enough to be asked a question about Snead, contemplate his answer by thinking about the quarterbacks he's had over the last few years, compare them to Snead, and then answer?  Remember, this is the guy can't even come up with more than four or five original sentences from the expanse English language.  I highly doubt he was intentionally taking a shot at anyone.

SooiecidetillNuttgone

At this stage, nobody should be surprised by King Clown and his clown brigade.

I feel sorry for Snead.  If he does have NFL potential, it'll take a miracle for him to make it now.  Every QB King Clown has had, regressed as each season went by.  MJ, at the best stayed about the same.

And the Ole Miss fans deserve better.  However, their administration is getting what it deserves.  They should have looked into this better.  A tiny smidgeon of investigation would have sent up enough red flags (even without any solid proof) to have kept them away.

And do you remember how we villified the young man from Boise State when he referred to Nutt as a "used car salesman"??

I certainly remember the lashing out at the kid for the used care salesman statement.  Nutt still had lots of backers then.  It was kind of lonely on the darkside in those days.  Then again mine time on the side goes back to the ignorant comments about Carlos Hall and how he would just stand vacantly at times during practice thinking how sorry he was about the woman he hit and ran.  Frickin' bull.

The good news is: I have full confidence in Nutt's ability to develop quarterbacks.

He develops QBs like Jeffrey Skilling developed Enron.

Exactly.  I have no idea why anyone cares what he has to say about the players that he has down there.  Through our 10 years we heard the 4-5 catch phrases that he will use to describe every single player on his team.  A retarded monkey could figure out what he's going to say about his team; why does ANYONE waste their time in reading about his comments to the Ole Piss-caring media?  We have crystal balls as to what comes out of his mouth for goodness sake.

Does anyone on this board even believe that NuttyBuddy believes what he is saying.

Our #1 QB last year finished 2nd in the Heisman balloting.  Snead will be lucky if he makes
All-Loserssippi honorable mention.

Snead will be the best QB we see in Oxford for quite a awhile.  And this year will be Ole Piss best chance at a winning record for quite a while too.  After this year all the rah-rah crap will fade.
