However sad this situation might be, we (in Arkansas) didn't corner the market on having bad fans. They are all over.
Its sad this happened to anyone, Texas fan or not. I am sure there are enough Razorback fans that, given the chance, would have stepped in and righted the wrong. Its unfortunate no one else heard it.
Please feel free to tell your friends how sorry I am that anyone would treat them with such disrespect, and please don't judge us by a few bad apples. At the end of the day we are not only Razorback fans but human beings also.

This is a silly thread. There needs to be no reaction what-so-ever but to delete this entire conversation. It's pointless and I'm out.

For a silly thread it sure seemed to get some people riled up about how people should act.  Not too mention how a lady and her daughter should be treated.  I would hope I never have to hear of such a despicable act as this again.  Most especially from people that represent Arkansas.

My friend ( who is a woman ) and her daughter ( 11 years old ) attended the NCAAT here at Alltel last weekend.  They sat in Section 211, Row 18, Seats 5 & 6.  My friend and her family are from Arkansas, live in Arkansas.  However, they like the Texas Longhorns as their family is from Texas, lives in Texas, etc.

While at the games on Friday, there were 2 middle aged men sitting next to them in seats 1 & 2.  Plaid shirts, khaki pants, ring on the finger, so apparently married men which would make me guess that maybe they had children being that age...I could be wrong.

So on Friday when my friend and daughter are getting ready to leave, one of these guys leans over to the little girl and tells her, "Ya'll and Texas can just go to Hell.".  "Why don't ya'll just go back to Texas."  When they didn't say anything and walked off, the guy tossed a magazine in their general direction and garbled something else.  This lady and her young daughter didn't provoke this treatment.

If you were one of these guys and are reading this, you are sick and pathetic.  A punk and a candy ass.  A poor representation of a man and an Arkansan.  You represent the little ole Arkansas complex and why this state lags behind many others in many things.

It's fine to boo, it's fine to boo and hate on Texas.  But to do that to a little girl and her mother when they haven't a man with them is just wrong and sick.

I hope that whomever the jackassed Arkansans are that did this read this post.

Tell us how you really feel...

After seeing that post I am sure he will feel as I do.  That you are more than likely one of or related to one of the ape axes that verbally abused a child.  Guess some people actually in a sick way somehow can overlook total ignorance.  But now I am guessing the thread is going to take on a new life today.  Like I said earlier.  For a silly thread this one has kept it's legs.

Fayettenam,

Hey I witnessed this myself my sales partner and I were about 2 rows above your friend and her daughter and heard what they said.  Just so you know we commented to the guys about what they said and they told us to "kiss their a$$" but unfortuantely for themthey did it before they turned around and saw us.  My partner is about 240 and no fat..me Im a little bigger than him but got a little more fat on me.  We walked down and talked to them and eventually because my friend knows the manager at Alltel had these 2 gentleman escourted from the building.  I wanted to catch up to the lady and apologize for their behavior but lost them in the crowd.  Please let your friend know that these guys didnt enjoy any more of the tournament.

Just wondering Trav34.  Is this person lying also?  Is this story equally hard to believe?  Glad to see someone did do something about this.

These guys were wrong to do what they did and John Brummett was wrong to complain about us giving UTerous a hard time.

What kind of world do you live in?  If a guy ever talked to me like that, we would have problems.  If anyone ever talked like that to my wife or daughter, we would have more than problems.

If you think this behavior is acceptable, please move from Arkansas.  I don't give a crap who your favorite team is.  I want you out of the state of Arkansas so that I will know I won't ever have to deal with someone like you.

What does hating on Texas have to do with 2 grown men speaking to a child in this manner.  I assume that the opposite 2 grown Texas men speaking to your wife and child would be just fine.  They are just hating on Arkansas.  Anyone who can even come close to condoning this is just as sick as the ignorant fools who carried out the act.  Even more pathetic to find a way to support it.

Decency and gentlemanly behavior!?!

Sentences like that will cause some people to tell you go to a tennis match and leave the "real" sports to the "men."

You mean like this guy right here.

I see the purpose of this thread as hopefully starting a conversation that reaches the two dumba**es who did this and hopefully shame them a little bit.  Sure it is a stretch, but you never know who else on this board knows something and may connect the dots.  If the events happened as the poster states, it is reprehensible behavior and those men should be ashamed.  If I had seen it, either I or they would have been escorted out.  However, I have a wife and young daughter and am probably a bit overly sensitive to the situation.

As to the treatment of Texas' team, I sat next to a very nice couple from Texas in 205 in felt embarassed by the booing in general.  As I told them afterwards, their coach didn't do them any favors, but I could care less about Texas anymore when we aren't playing them.  I still have a special place in my heart for beating them and I want to see us play, but I personally believe that the move to the SEC put us in a position of equals with their program.  Not truly equal in terms of history and championships, but equal in the sense that I think Arkansas in the SEC can be as legitimate a national power in modern football as Texas can and my inferiority complex is gone.  LSU, Florida, Tennessee, et al are the teams that get me excited now.

Let me say that I have NO problem with those of you that booed, I just wouldn't boo.  I know it feels good to boo Texas having done it many times in the past, but I just want us to move on out of the shadows of the Longhorns and I felt that booing just keeps us there.  Again, no problem with you that feel differently, that's just how I feel.  Go Hogs!

Wow, so scared and jealous of Texas that they tell an 11 yr old girl to go to hell.  But, no, there is no inferioity complex in Arkansas about Texas..................LOL.

Most of us agree that this was WAY over the line.  These actions are not acceptable.  Period.  As for the booing in general?  I loved it.  We don't like Texas, who cares if they show us the hate back?  If we truly hate Texas athletic teams, then we shouldn't give one iota about their reaction to it all.

Hogsanity, I agree with you more than most people on this board on a wide variety of issues.  But this whole "inferiority complex" argument about why we still hate Texas you are making now doesn't make any sense.  How can we have an inferiority complex when we think we're "man" enough to take on Texas?  Do you think this is some sort of "little man's disease?"  Do you equate this to the guy that is 5'6" 145 sopping wet and starts picking fights with the jocks on campus to prove how much of a man he is?

Because if you do, then you're saying we're the little man.  And then I would have to ask:  who has the inferiority complex?

I think some people do have that mentality.  Realizing some people are that idiotic does not put you in the same category with them.  Now they be a small group, but they (as in this case) can have a lot of affect.

To be honest NOLE,
I would find it easier to believe that Fun Hoggin is also lying than to believe that 2 middle aged men were cursing and throwing magazines at an 11 year old girl.

Yeah lots of guys sit around and decide to put up detailed posts such as that.  Good grief.  Stupid is as stupid does.  I do believe it is possibly the most contagious disease known to man.  All some had to was click on this thread to get infected.

More offended by this.  Although I've never been told I sleep with my sister by Texans.  Which wouldn't matter...I can take being told whatever.  A woman and child shouldn't have to listen to guys like this and what they said.

Bingo

In addition, whomever these fellas are - let it be an example of how we as Arkansas are NOT suppsoed to act at a game. Let us be true sportsman and ambassadors of our great state.

If they think what these men did was okay, or somehow justified, then they think the thread is silly.

I think you are silly, i think this thread is bordering on silly, due in part to the fact that if the 2 "men" can and are reading, they are probably laughing because they guaged a response. But i think what the 2 "men" did was horrible and they need to bwe tossed over a cliff. Wrong again sanity...u should make a living out of being wrong. Not everyone who thinks this thread is silly condones what happened....quit making assumptions for an entire demographic...you are not God, you dont read minds...quit pretending.
