"I'd like to be a head coach again, absolutely, but I don't have a timetable for that at all," said Evans, who was the guest speaker Tuesday at the Northwest Arkansas Tip-Off Club lunch at the Springdale Holiday Inn. "I want to be the best assistant coach I can be and help John in any way he asks.

" He wants so bad for Arkansas to be a success again, and I want the same thing. That's my focus right now, and everything else will take care of itself."

Thanks, I thought the best quote of the article was....

"When John first called, I thought he was calling to ask me to recommend somebody," Evans said. "When he asked me to come help him, I wasn't so sure at first, but he was the most persistent sucker that I'd ever seen".

" He's a fiery, young coach who knows exactly what he wants to do."

"In the East, college football is a cultural exercise.

On the West Coast, it is a tourist attraction.

In the Midwest, it is cannibalism.

But in the South, college football is a religion, and every Saturday is a holy day."
