What's that all about? How can we go down if we didn't lose?

Easily.  People vote differently, based upon being impressed by the efforts of other teams.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Other teams beat better teams.  Well, looks like we won't get back in this year.  That one loss will haunt us.

Early season polls are pretty useless, just a horse-race popularity contest. It's cool to be ranked, but no reason to worry.

hmm...i think we lost 3 or 4 games the year we won the national championship...were we the only unranked national champion?

I don't think it was that we lost one game. I think it was that we lost a game while turning over the ball 32 times. And won another game while turning the ball over 30 times. Voters know that if we play decent competition and turn the ball over 30 times we will lose. If we can prove that we can play like we did the last 2 games taking care of the ball then we will start to move back up.

ESPN hates Arkansas. At least Ive always felt that way. I really thought we would crack the top 25 in the AP though. Funny thing Wisconsin plays one game and goes from 26 to 20. We play one game and go from 28 to 34. Go figure.

Lastweek we go 2 of three in a tourney and drop from 18 to 28. This week Southern Illinois goes two of three in a tourney and drops from 18 to 22. Go figure.

Arizona loses this week and goes from to 44 to 34 points .We win and go from to 46 to 22 points in the polls. Go figure.

BYU loses and jumps 8 spots and into the top 25.  I dont care who they lost to they lost, and since when do moral victories jump you 8 spots.

Basketball.......not football. Pay attention.

The first half of the Delaware State game didn't help.  We didn't look like a top 25 team in that half.  The second half, however, much improved.  I would say we will be in and out of the top 25 all season.
