I thought it would be great for all of us to put our favorite moments of Dana Altman's time here.

Personally, mine was him talking it up with the guys on DTS last night. Man.. I'm going to miss him.

animal

I really liked that time he got of the plane and looked SOOO excited to be here

ComeonHogs!!!

On a positive Note, This may shine a bright National media light on the BAC. Someone may dig and find out why no coaches want to come to the land of OZ.
State Pride!!!

moley_russells_wart_hog

the shock on his face when we called the hogs

DrSwineESQ

I personally liked when he said, "with your permission, I'd like to retire here"

He did lie about one thing, he certainly isn't boring.

arkyvol

ah, the memories!  rank right up there with what's his name.

SLC

My favorite part was when he didn't even meet with the team to tell them he was leaving them!!!!
Yeah!
Way to go!
I need your truthful reply - lie, I will know it... and death will be no respite.

The Hog Blogger

Awesome.  Me personally?  I liked that one time he did that thing with those guys.  Unforgettable.

SLC

Evidently Darian Townes found out from watching TV!
Nice.
Classy.

i liked that one time at the PC when bo said "i'll stand up so you can see me" and altman laughed

Where do I start?  Let's see....I can't put my finger on any one thing.  Coach Altman's time at Arkansas just flew by for me.  It seems like only yesterday he was announced as our new coach!
My sources are unreliable, but their information is fascinating.

wooo

I would have loved for him to stay...

...but did anyone notice that he had a look on his face similar to the way you look after eating a big ole bowl of cereal and then realizing the milk is ruined?

He looked like someone had just killed his cat at the press conference.

best of luck coach Altman-you gotta follow your heart-or else you just might throw up!

sowsmilk

Taking the hog snout from Mike Nail... I'll never forget it.

GO

I remember that time when Dana's wife Reva had to reimburse Frank for those lovely roses.

I didn't realize he had plans to retire so quickly......LOL
Hearing God's voice means not listening to the noise of the world around us.

Remember that time Coach Altman did the hog call? Yeah, Yeah. Remember that time Coach Altman said they press 40 minutes? Yeah, Yeah. Remember that time Coach Altman quit before the first day on the job? If  no other circumstances led to his demise other than being homesick then Im glad this Jabroni is gone. Fire Frank for hiring him.

I liked it when he was given the hog hat and shirt and instead of holding them up or putting them on he sat them right on the table.

Classic.  It did only seem like yesterday.  I think my favorite memory of Coach A was when he said he was going to retire here and how he was going to restore us to national prominence.  You will be greatly missed Coach A.  Best of luck at your new, well old, job.

cubbie

Ill just miss that big beautiful smile. :)
If you were a Hotdog would you eat yourself? I know I would.

dhornjr1

I liked that time he was on Drive Time Sports and Rick Schaeffer, Randy Rainwater, Ray Tucker and Ron Crawford kissed his a$$ for a good ten minutes and talked about how GREAT a hire he was.

PiggoBitttys

Just one!! Geez, how can you guys limit yourselves to one. You're not doing the great Altman justice!

secfan30

I really will miss how he looked like Opie Taylor. Ho Hum, it made me forget about Coach Richardson. HAHAHAHA I actually said that with a strait face. Actaully I would pay to see that fight, Coach Richardson and Altman....... The memories. Oh and I have been looking at their board, they say this guy was classy? Only thing he did classy was talk to the media, the rest was a bunch of lies. I guess I should rememeber whos board I was on, half of them need a few lessons on being classy.

Table Rocker

i guess i shouldn't have gotten the portrait of altman wearing a hog hat tattooed on my ass?

Semper Hogelis

Oh man. You remember that game when coach Altman got that T. No wait. check that. Uhh . Okay, Okay. The time at SEC tourney when he. No no. There was that game against Duke in the Sweet 16, and Patrick Beverly went for 30 points, and Coach A said.
No. wasn't him. My bad.
I need a monkey, a football and a bucket of grease. HY coaching search 2019....

Dick Swineberg

I'll always remember how I confused him with Drew Michaels, the weather man off 40/29...I always wanted to ask him if they were long-lost brothers.

razorbrass

I remember this one time at band camp when Altman.....
Ladies and Gentlemen can I please have your attention.  I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story and I need all of you to stop what you are doing and listen!

My favorite memory was his love for water.  He must have gone through a whole case during his press conference. Intense anxiety will sure dry a fella out.  Let's raise our Aquafina bottles to Coach A.  We hardly knew yee.

oldtimerhog

That time he looked like he realllllly needed a bathroom throughout the entire press conference!
Welcome Petrino Brothers - We have waited a long time for you!

JadedHog

My favorite memory was the way he walked into Bud Walton for his press conference.  He looked like a man being led to the gas chamber.  I think I even saw Frank walking in front of him crying, "DEAD MAN WALKING"!

Godfather

I liked the part when he...  Oh, he never did anything..
WPS to the end.

wirebender25

I like when he had to buy his own plane ticket back.

FogHornLongHorn2222

Man, time flies by.  It seems like only the other day that you hired him.......

Jimmy

The excitement that gushed from both Dana & wife the day he was introduced at Bud Walton.  Seems like only yesterday.  Made me excited to have them.  Boy, I'll never forget the feeling that it was THE day Arkansas basketball had returned to prominence.

justonefan

This is the most entertaining reading i've had in ... several days :D

Coach_Altman

I'm glad I could leave all of you with some memories.  I'm sorry I didn't stay longer, but I'm not used to dealing with such a dilusional fan base.  Best of luck to you finding my replacement

kosherHog

I liked that really touching moment when P-Bev said he'd found his father-figure.  Divorce always hurts the kids the most.

redbarn

How much darned money did we pay Altman so that he could retire after only one day on the job.
"I'm against the constitutionality of marriage in any way, shape, or form.  You may quote me......."  Rev Jerry Falwell

PigTimePlayer

I liked it when he told Chuck that his goal for our program was to "have the best basketball team that we can" year after year . . . . "barring injuries or illnesses."

Too bad we missed out on that kind of high level success.
Advice for reading posts on Hogville:  Think about how stupid the average person is.  Then, remember that half of the people are more stupid than that.  So relax and take it easy on 'em.

My favorite moment was when Chuck Barrett got flustered and said, "I'll be darned if I'd let him ride back on my plane!"

huskerhog

Stop with the hog call!! its the goofiest thing in college sports

The Boar War

I'll always remember Coach Altman for being the only undefeated basketball coach.  Too bad pressing for 40 minutes would have lasted slightly shorter than your coaching career here.

Ha Ha, It's been awhile since I heard the word Jabroni but this guy is one.  He needs to get back to omaha, before we check him into smackdown hotel, feed him the rock bottom followed by a big mouth of peoples elbow.  IFFFFFFFF  YOUUUUUUU SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, what The Rock is cooking!
Hey buddy, why don't you go grab daddy a cold one outta the fridge!

Dana Altman

I appreciate the memories and well wishes, we will always share this bond.

Yahooty

The only thing I remember is Coach A being the only coach in Razorback history to go undefeated....GREAT JOB COACH....

Wash Hogwallop

I will remember illustration of the fast-break.

PolishPigPower

I liked that part where the next season started and this was all just a dream... and Bobby was still alive, or Nolan was still coach... or something like that.

Could this have been an HDN masterminded scheme to make him look like a loyal Hog soldier?

Agreed!  TONS goofier than a huge-headed guy in a Cowboy hat with a stalk of corn growing out of his backside.

I'll never forget the look I imagined his face to be when he opened his e-mail from Teresa Prewett this morning and read, "DID I MENTION THAT I WANTED YOU TO LEAVE"???
