That is the only thing holding him back is his height. I have a feeling by the time he is a Junior he will be a starting PG on a team that makes a deep run in March. But he's not 6'1. There are a million very talented players in history who can say "if only I were a little taller." That's what separates 5/4*s from all the other good players. Ability AND the physical attributes. 2

In one week the men's college basketball Transfer Portal will close. May 1 closes the 45-day period. Already, over 1,800 players have entered for this cycle. Worth noting, players do not have to be committed by May 1, just paperwork submitted to the NCAA. 8:45 AM · Apr 24, 2024 · 3

"Feel good" story lines are a great part of the game, but DVH has forgotten more about baseball that probably all of us on here even know. He's trying to manage his roster for the long haul and what's best for the team, not to "make somebody's momma happy" 4

He was also hit in the head against South Carolina on Sunday and had to eventually leave the game. Possibly held out because of concussion protocols. They don't have to disclose that, so without knowing, really can't argue either way. But keeping making rash assumptions if that helps. I would tend to think all things being equal, any coach — including Van Horn, would have started him because his on the opposing team. He did it against Mizzou. 5

Most officials work in multiple conferences, and some work both the Big 12 and the SEC. I don't disagree that SEC officiating needs improvement, but I bet if we watched the Little Dozen as closely as we watch the SEC, we'd think their zebras all need Lasik too. Attending a dozen plus B12 games a year, I've noticed some of those officials working other conference games. So technically you're correct. But something doesn't pass the eye test and I've heard mention of "league play" in B12 being called with greater allowance for physical play. I don't know how that works in terms of advising officials or if it's even a real factor. But numbers don't lie. This is a chart in USAToday article on fouls per league for 2020 season. Total fouls committed SEC — 7,746 (553 per 14 teams) ACC — 6,979 (465 per 15 teams) Big Ten — 6,466 (461 per 14 teams) Pac-12 — 5,968 (497 per 12 teams) Big East — 4,970 (497 per 10 teams) Big 12 — 4,864 (486 per 10 teams) 6
Jump Ball / Re: Muss withdrawalsLast post by JenksHawg - Today at 08:25:55 amQuote from: HognitiveDissonance on Today at 12:18:55 amIt's not silly, it's just the way it is. We were not a Top 5 team. We finished 10th. We had an incredibly easy road that year to the Elite 8 - favored to win all 3 games to get there and almost lost to ORU. The next year was also solid. The last 2 years were failures. I'd much rather be relevant all season long, finish Top 5 in the SEC, Top 20 overall, and lose in the 2nd round that be disappointing all year and get lucky with an easy path to an Elite 8. 7

The Big 10 is easily the most overrated conference. That has happened exactly once in the last decade. And FWIW KenPom had them as the best conference that year by a good margin. People get blinded by that one year and their failings in that one tournament as this idea that the Big 10 is constantly overrated. It's typically seeded about where they should be. The B1G had 6 bids last year. 3 of them over performed their seed line and 3 under. 8
Fairways and Greens / Re: Where are the bad greens t...Last post by Hog66 - Today at 08:22:57 amMost at Nutters are nice. Number 10, # 14 and # 5 are rough. The previous groundskeeper used to spend his entire budget on planting pine trees. Eventually the greens weren't getting any sun. They've cleared out a bunch of the trees and they're getting better.

Does he now start looking for even bigger fish to go with the select 5 stars? He has 5 weeks to go after them. Things are about to get wild , I feel sorry for coaches in the NIL era of sports. It isn't the best coaches anymore but the ones with NIL. Year to year you never know who is going to be on your team. I can't understand Cal at 65 wanting to do this till 70 or beyond. I. would think this makes coaching far harder. I just wonder what the effect is on fan bases 5 years from nowMy guess is Cal has seen freshmen guards can be elite as freshmen but when it comes to bigs usually the best in the Nation are experienced 3 or 4 years players. From the looks of things he is still gonna recruit the big time freshmen guards but use the portal to fill out the front court. Inreally hope we get somto cyril still, dude is gonna be a rebounding monster, probaly not a one and done so wouod get him multiple years. 10
