Quote from: tophawg19 on Yesterday at 11:02:52 pmThat is ridiculous. A good coaching hire will bring in good players. Coaches can get players to follow them. It may take extra money to get the level coach we want just like it did with Muss and Cal. Your drama is over the top
That is one opinion.  However, it doesn't who we hire, if there is no NIL, top players will not follow their coach; nor will other top players come.

Quote from: liljo on Yesterday at 12:09:28 pmMizzou should be undefeated coming into that one. Let's see, they play Slippery Rock, Sisters of the Poor, Whatsamattah U, and Vanderbilt before playin' the Naggies. The following week they play UMass...UMASS!

It's the one game I'll be rootin' for A$M. Why can't the Hogs ever, EVER get a schedule like Mizzou??? Looks like the A$M game is their first road game of the season!

Paper Tigers.

Are you angry at Mizzou for smart scheduling or angry at Ark. for bad scheduling? And A&M with their talent could kick our arse not doubt.

If recliner experts critique CBP this much for bringing in a QB prospect now, their analysis should be fun this fall.

Quote from: tophawg19 on Yesterday at 09:27:34 pmHow is this kid just a 3 star? Those numbers are crazy good
Alabama had around 80 three star or better recruits last year, 20 four stars or better. I guess they are going to have a hard time getting them all right on the money.
Fortunately not a problem we have to worry about here.

Quote from: bennyl08 on Today at 12:23:57 amYes. A program's status isn't defined by who will have the better season this year, or even next. It's about who is going to have a better season in 2030.

Arkansas dwarfs mizzou on the all time win list. Arkansas has had 30 draft picks over the past decade. Mizzou has had 27. Arkansas brings in more revenue and typically recruits better than mizzou.

Other than head to head record and recent win/loss totals, there's not to many metrics that Mizzou surpasses Arkansas.

I'm not disputing your facts/metrics but that is a Pure Ark. perspective and a deep dive Ark. myopic view point...

The average College football fan doesn't give two craps about the revenue a Program brings in when the W/L record is lackluster  and they don't factor in  the NFL Draft Picks when it is basically a push numbers wise 30/27 is not a wide margin.

Usually the Average CFB Fan only focuses on a Programs success during their Life time and who is winning current day.

What the Average college football fan See's is that Mizzou has dominated Ark., been to two SEC title games and beat Ohio. st in a NY day bowl game last year.

On the Flipside the Average College football fan looks at Ark. and see's a Program that has Churned through Coaches, been a after thought in the West Division and yes most CFB fans understand the SEC west was tougher but that only makes Ark. constant losing to Mizzou a average East team seem worse, and they see a Ark. Program that's Win/Loss record and success being closer to Kansas than Bama.

It's no different than if you asked some average CFB outside of Neb. who has the better Program is now Mizzou or Neb. we all know that Neb. all time record tradition and success not to mention resources and $$$$ dwarfs Mizzou. But over the last 20 years Neb. has been seen as a afterthought of a program that us underperformed and who has also ran through coaches, had minimal success and a Poor W/L record to boot. To many younger fans they are clueless about Tom Osborne NC and Neb. dominance in the 90's.

Only hardcore football fans deep dive into the stuff you mention.... 90% of college football fans as I stated only know about the surface history of the Blue Bloods because the MSM hypes it up, they have no clue a about the Past of Ark. and their Draft picks, revenue and all time win loss/bowl record.

Maybe you missed my point... Perception is Reality to a huge degree. And the Perception is that the Hogs are a program that is at the bottom of College football to the modern day CFB fan. I know this fact is gonna be a hard pill to swallow for some Hogs fan's like yourself and your gonna wanna double down on the Metrics and Analytics. And I will say again I don't dispute those as they are true but again the Normal CFB fan is not gonna know that data or give two hoots about the data all they know is Ark has been bad during their Watching experience and Mizzou has been decent.

I will add this that Ark. winning of 740 games all time to Mizzou 727 is not dwarfing by any stretch in my analysis. I guess you see 13 games as a much bigger margin than myself. I'd never say our 15 conference titles dwarfs Ark. 13 conference titles... but that's just me. Or that our bowl winning percentage .444 dwarfs Ark. bowl winning percentage .420 and we are so much better in bowls. I'd call it a push but again that is just me.

Also why would you assume Ark. is going to have a better season in 2030 and that the Average Fan around the nation assumes Ark. will be better in 2030 than Mizzou.

Makes sense, though it could also be he knows which schools he wants to visit and doesn't want to waste time with the others,,, I'm sure he's getting an NBA evaluation as well.

Quote from: husker71 on April 24, 2024, 07:12:30 pmso if somehow you could have either coach would you choose Drink or SP ??  Lets make this so neither one has coached Arkansas.  Lets say Drink has his record but at San Jose St and Sam has made his record at U of Nevada

Drink because App st., Ark. St., Boise st., NcSt all are programs that have similar limitations as Mizzou and he understands how to deal with those speed bumps. SP while coaching at Western Mich. KU, Mizzou, N. Illini etc. well he doesn't seem to embrace a model to mitigate those issues. He tends to follow the UGA/TENN/ARK model.

Quote from: PharmacistHog on April 24, 2024, 12:12:40 pmYeah, losing that kicker is a major blow.  We have the same issue (amongst MANY other problems).  lol

I agree and in the Spring game the replacement was just ordinary
