That CBS Writer  has way too much time on his hands !
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Now.  How much pressure would that be....if you got payed per win??

We would definitely see more cupcakes scheduled in that scenario.

...and possibly a strong push to move to the weakest conference possible.

This is meaningless for a 1 year period.  A 4 year number would be more interesting.

That was the most pointless article I've ever read.

Here's a wild idea just for discussion- divide a large portion of money made by the NCAA for a salary pool of member institution coaches, and each school commit to a small mandatory salary contribution. Salary caps on all coaches and all are paid the same per win. Straight commission/incentive based.

Money not paid out due to losses is pooled to use as a signing bonus to entice bringing in a better coach should the program falter.

What does this do to the dynamics of NCAAFB as we know it today? It's a wild thought, but the article got me thinking.

It is interesting that they include the American Athletic Conference with the Power 5 conferences.

Power 5? that's so 2014. It's the Power 6 now. get with the times

We'll see how well the AAC holds up. This was one season. Top AAC coaches still leave for power 5 jobs after they have good seasons.

Throw out his first year at arkansas and I think we are getting our money's worth.

14 wins over 7 million dollars

The few who are still on here seem to love him--a pasty of his cult following, Ibsuppise.

Throw out the first year for BB, take away all the losses in years 2 and 3, add back the 3 wins for the first year, throw in the potential for say 7 wins in 2016 and divide that number by one years salary and our coach would lead the league in providing value per win back to the UofA and therefore us.  See you can make anything look great if you just rearrange the numbers enough.
