Greinke is looking for a bigger deal. Opting out of the $71 million he's owed over the next 3 seasons. Does he stay with the Dodgers or does someone else scoop him up? I was just thinking earlier today that the Dodgers might have missed their window to win a championship with that championship caliber team they bought. If he leaves, I'd definitely say that's the case.

ring...................ring.............Hey Mr. Greinke? This is Brian Cashman of the New York Yankees calling and have I got a deal for YOU!

The Yankees are just now getting a full head of steam on handling their pre-existing budget issues.  I don't see them buying Greinke, unless they're willing to drop another $150-200M in additional committments;  that team just has too many shortcomings to be an instant contender.

If you expect anyone to open the check book and go for broke, it might be someone like San Fransisco, that's freeing up about $50M in obligations a year, this year, and has a legitimately closing window.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Not to mention, it's an even year coming up, so we all know they're going to win it all, getting Grienke will cement that fact. ;)

Yankee lock

I don't think so. If the boss was still around then yeah. I think the Dodgers, Cubs and Redsox are all more likely to spend money nowadays than the Yankees. At least for the time being.

Red Sox will only do the obligatory sniff at Greinke. I think they are more likely to go after Price. At one time I wanted them to go after Cueto but not anymore.

God I hope not.  I am afraid the Giants may make a major offer for him.  Greinke is kind of a strange dude.  Not sure what he might do.  hope Dodgers can resign him but I think he is more likely to leave.  As long as he doesn't sign with another team in the NL west I will be ok.  American League would be even better.
