SEC Football Transfer Speculated and Moved On

QB Matt Davis has informed the A&M coaching staff of his intentions to transfer from the Aggies football program.  To where Davis will head is unknown, although the JUCO ranks for a season could be a possibility.

Davis leaves College Station a year after coming into the program as one of the highest-rated quarterbacks in the 2012 recruiting class.  Given four stars by Rivals.com, Davis was listed as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 15 player at any position in the state of Texas.  He redshirted as a true freshman in 2012.

Davis' departure leaves redshirt junior Matt Joeckel and true freshman Kenny Hill as the only two left to battle for the backup job behind Manziel — or the starting job in place of Manziel depending on the NCAA.

Davis will be eligible to transfer to another Football Bowl Subdivision School after the 2013 season if he plays for the Apache.

A UK spokesman has finally confirmed that freshman RB Khalid Thomas and sophomore LB Pancho Thomas have been dismissed from the football team for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Khalid Thomas was a huge pickup for the Cats last summer.

Alabama State adds two SEC transfers

Brothers Pancho and Khalid Thomas are now Alabama State, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.


Pancho, a sophomore linebacker and Khalid, a freshman running back, were both booted off Kentucky's team by new Wildcats coach Mark Stoops early last month, following an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Pancho, a six-foot, 225-pounder had 12 tackles as a true freshman in blue and white in 2012 and is expected to help the Hornets at interior linebacker. Khalid rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior at Godby High in Tallahassee...
