LSU played solid defense on the perimeter.

Mr. Waters showed what a point guard is supposed to do: he broke the defense down through penetration and helped create offensive opportunities for his teammates.

We, on the other hand, were stymied on offense and took ill-advised shots deep in the shot clock.

We also got few offensive rebounds.

About sum it up?

Mr Waters is doing what every other team is doing to us.  We cannot stop dribble penetration at all.  And in us trying we are putting everyone in such bad position that we have guards covering post men underneath and post players trying to cover guards on the perimeter (all due to this switching).  Hell just play a match up zone and pack the middle, at least you won't be getting beat to death with the dribble drive.  this pressing half court defense is not working at all.  It is not creating turnovers and is giving the other team layup drills.

Yep.

The head-scratcher is that, as much as CMA's philosophy depends on solid defense, the application of that philosophy on the court is just not happening right now.

His defense never depended on solid defense, it depended on chaotic defense and getting teams in a scramble and forcing To's. Now, with how even 4's and 5's can handle the ball, teams just do not turn it over as much.

That is true. However, we still don't play fundamentally sound defense when we have to. Clint McDaniel would glue himself to you; Beck and Crawford as well when needed. We seem now to be just content to feint at an opposing player and watch him run by us.

They scouted us pretty well, they left our 4 men and Hall open on the wing and allowed them to shoot, if they would have been hit it would of been a different story but they played the percentages and got it right this time. 50\50 decision

Nailed it. The best part of the game was Pat Adams getting so upset he had a fan escorted out. That happened just down in front of me.
I escorted myself out just a few moments later.

No, because after they hit a couple, LSU would have quit leaving them open, I am sure their coach is capable of that minor adjustment. Ar is the only team that continues to leave shooters open after they hit 2 or 3 or 7 or 10.
