Five-star 2015 defensive end CeCe Jefferson of Glen St. Mary (Fla.) Baker County tweeted last weekend that he plans to take official visits to Alabama and UCLA.

This week, he told 247Sports that he also plans to visit Auburn "this summer or fall," but did not say whether he'd take an official visit to the Plains.

Florida is thought to lead for Jefferson (6-2, 250), who is being recruited for Auburn by Rodney Garner. He is the top-rated strong-side defensive end and the No. 5 overall prospect in the nation for 2015, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Gus Cumberlander stands close to 6-foot-7, and weighs in at 245 pounds. He passes all the eyeball tests.

"Gus has one of the biggest upsides I have seen," Cedar Grove assistant Chris Hill said. "He will peak in college. He holds his weight good, and has not missed a single workout this winter. He put on close to 20 pounds this offseason."

If I'm a college coach, I'm taking these kinds of kids all day long, especially when you take into account his friendly demeanor and good grades (3.0 GPA, and wants to study Pharmacy). He's a project, but one worth investing in, imho.

Gus is the kind of guy I sign strictly based on potential.

Head coaches can't evaluate prospects in-person during the spring, but that hasn't stopped Nick Saban from having a big impact.

The Alabama head coach has utilized Skype to communicate with top prospects around the country. On Tuesday, Saban used the free video service to talk to five-star defensive lineman Daylon Mack, who is verbally committed to A&M.

Per his coach on Twitter, Iowa has offered 2016 4-star defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson from Ellenwood, GA (Cedar Grove). Jackson has great size for a 2016 D-tackle, as he's already checking in at 6-foot-3, 265 pounds. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 11 defensive tackle, and No. 78 recruit nationally.

Some of Jackson's other notable offers include South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound rising junior plays for one of the more well-known programs in Gwinnett County, a recruiting hotbed that produces over 50 FBS signees a year, more than most states. His school achieved national prominence a few years ago when they won the state championship with the help of 247Sports Composite No. 1 overall prospect Robert Nkemdiche, who signed with Ole Miss. Rising senior Justin Young committed to Georgia earlier this spring...

MrSEC and 247 Sports: Defensive tackle Daylon Mack from Gladewater (Texas) High School jumped back on board following Murray's commitment to Texas A&M.

Mack, the nation's No. 2 defensive tackle according to 247Sports, was already committed to the Aggies but had scheduled visits to Alabama and LSU. That plan changed following Murray's commitment to Texas A&M.

"It's obvious, Kyler committing and him being there, the vision of this class is falling into place now," Mack told 247Sports. "I told the coaches at LSU and Alabama this morning that I would not be visiting."

To recap: in a 24-hour period, Texas A&M was able to secure commitments from a five-star quarterback and four-star receiver while convincing a five-star defensive tackle commitment to cancel his visits to two rival schools. Not a bad week.

Mississippi State began its summer on a high note Wednesday with the addition of 2016 four-star defensive tackle Briston Guidry.

The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder from Archbishop Rummel (La.) High School pledged his services to the Bulldogs over offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Tennessee.

Guidry is considered the nation's No. 23 defensive tackle and 240th overall prospect in the country for the 2016 class. He joins Orlando, Fla., linebacker Jonathan Pollack in MSU's class for 2016.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound rising junior took part in the lineman camp at Georgia Thursday with his team. Kentucky, Mississippi State, N.C. Four-star rising senior defensive tackle Quay Picou of Buford (Ga.) High School told 247Sports that he committed to Tennessee on Saturday while attending its "Orange Carpet Day."

"I committed to Tennessee!" Picou told 247Sports' Kipp Adams. "All of them! Coach Butch Jones, (running backs) Coach (Robert) Gillespie and (defensive line) Coach (Steve) Stripling."

The 6-foot-3, 287-pound Picou chose the Vols over scholarship offers from Ohio State, Miami, Ole Miss, A&M, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Kentucky and State, among others. He's ranked the nation's No. 23 defensive tackle in the 2015 class by 247Sports.

Picou is a teammate of three-star rising senior linebacker Austin Smith, who also committed to Tennessee on Saturday.

Trenton Thompson, who is rated as the nation's No. 1 overall college football prospect, isn't sure if he'll attend UGA's biggest camp of the year next week.

But the 5-star defensive tackle from Albany's Westover High School still has the Bulldogs as his leader.

It depends on whatever my high school coaches decide to do," Thompson told the AJC on Thursday. "If I go to Florida State next week, I probably won't go to Georgia."

Thompson has admitted that he almost committed twice to UGA last year but held off because he didn't want to rush his decision. He confirmed again on Thursday that the Bulldogs are still the school to beat.

"Georgia is still my leader, but people are pushing hard to knock them off the top," he said. "Alabama is getting close. USC was a great visit, and they're getting close. I like Clemson, Auburn and Florida State a lot.

"Right now, I think it's Georgia, USC, Alabama and Clemson at the top. Then Florida State and Auburn are not far behind."
