Greater Dallas Razorback Club
Paul & Susan Henderson
2016 Golf Classic & Spring Rally
Saturday, May 14

The Trails of Frisco Golf Club

It's Golf & Rally time in Dallas! This year the Greater Dallas Razorback Club (GDRC) and the Dallas Chapter of the Arkansas Alumni Association (DCAAA) are collaborating to bring you this event.

On the heels of the spring football scrimmage at RRS and the excitement about the upcoming season, head football coach Brett Bielema is coming to Dallas to golf and talk football with metroplex Razorback fans. If you're a golfer, come and join us in a scramble and get a golf pointer from coach Bielema as he hits a shot with your foursome. I'm not a golfer (my team members call me 'Whiff' on the tee ;D), but I play anyway - and you should too. It's a scramble, so your teammates can cover for you if you have less than stellar skills on the links.

Our Spring Rally will immediately follow the Golf Classic, where we have a plethora of things happening, including.
o  Dinner with with Coach Bielema and fellow Hog fans
o  Auction of GDRC football tickets, including: Alabama and LSU.
o  The latest, freshest, possible football news straight from Head Hog Coach Bielema 's mouth. Get his assessment of the spring game, and join in the Q&A following his comments.
o  Door prizes
o  Lot's of Hog Callin'

Time is running short to reserve your spot in the Golf Classic or Spring Rally. If you plan to attend the GDRC Spring Rally, but haven't sent your money in yet, consider this:

Cost for the Rally is $25 in advance and $35 for all at the door. We need to know NOW if you will be attending, as we have to firm up our reservations for food and golf carts. So, get your money in now.

If you're a golfer, we still have spots left in our scramble - and you can sign up for that on our form. If you golf, your Rally dinner is included in the $150 golf registration fee.

For full information and to sign up, go to our website at www.hogfan.com

You got a Typo Sat the 14th on the top of your post is says the 15th .
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Porknbeans, again, thanks for giving this the extra attention. I got the e-mail, but this thread will be easier to keep up with. It's a great event.

The 2016 Paul & Susan Henderson Golf and Rally, a collaborative effort of the Greater Dallas Razorback Club (GDRC) and Arkansas Alumni Association-Dallas Chapter (DCAAA), was fabulous! The weather started out chilly with rain in the forecast. However, temps warmed up and the rain stayed away making for an excellent day on the golf course (not counting my round). We had approximately 120 golfers, with the numbers almost evenly split between the GDRC and DCAAA.

Coach Bielema was stationed on one of the par 3 tee boxes and hit a drive for each team. Of course - in typical Coach B fashion - he hit his drive in sandals.

The Rally dinner later was even better. We had BBQ (chicken, pork, beef, ribs) that was smoked on site and was delicious. Coach B, as he always does, gave us an entertaining update on the state of Razorback football. He highlighted not only the athletic side of the team, but also the tremendous academic achievements of his players.

In addition to enjoying a day of Razorback fellowship, the Rally is the primary fundraiser for the GDRC. This year didn't disappoint. For our live auction two of our members donated 4 tickets to the winning bidder's choice of Cowboy game, in their suite, with parking and all the food and beverages. This sold for $3000.

Coach B then took the gavel in hand and auctioned some tickets to the Alabama game. He added in a few extra inducements and got the price for a pair of tickets past $1000 - and the winning bidder took several pair at that price.

For everyone that showed up to play golf, enjoy BBQ, and listen to Coach B - thanks a million. Because of your support the GDRC was able to raise a hefty chuck of change for our donation to the Razorback Foundation in support of Razorback athletics.

If you missed it this year, not to worry - we'll be doing it again next year.

For all Hog fans in the Dallas metroplex (and those that are visiting), join us at Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) in Addison to cheer on the Hogs on game day. The BWW managing partner is a HUGE Hog fan and the atmosphere in BWW on game day is the next best thing to being in the stands. For the latest in GDRC info, go to hogfan.com

Lanny - Thanks so much for pinning this event for us and thus helping us get the word out. This really helps since we're operating from enemy territory.
