QB Chase Nelson looks good in their first drive.  Looks like Mississippi is having a terrible time with the spread of Missouri.

Missouri 7  Mississippi 0  10:00 1st

Im watching this game too.  Is Mizzou's offense similiar to Malzahn's?

Bomis Hawg

Is this a FSN Game?

Missouri is pretty decent.  Sophomore Chase Daniel is a good QB, played quite a bit last year.

Kevin

what about their finesse offense?  looks good to me.  yes, i think that is what gus' offense looks like.

Mizzou is really taking it to Ole Miss.  Im loving it.  Even though I will hear about it come Monday, my boss's son goes to Mizzou now.

Ross U (HDHF)

17-0 Mizzou

Their QB is looking dang good.

RazrRila99

Ok, how does Mitch compare to Chase?  Has anyone seen Mitch play in person?  Chase is just single handedly picking apart this Miss D.  If this is what we can expect from Mitch/Gus/Damien/Ben then OMFG Im all kinds of fired up.

Mizzou TD again 17-0

The Hog

Missouri 17 Mississippi 0  13:09 2nd

Unless things change the Rebs will be a no contest for us if Gus is driving the bus.
Automatic RUN!

Kevin

that is the way our offense would look with more time to run it. but i guess we are not going to do  that.  we are going to the hey diddle, diddle run up the middle.  i hope everyone boos that  staff and adminsitration out of the building tonight.

Pinkel has been at Mizzou now for 6 years (4 of which with Brad Smith), and just now starting to get things rolling real good. Im all kinds of fired up.  I think Gus will be driving the bus.  Or Mitch will override HDN. That is going to be fun to watch -- a true frosh audibling out of HDNs mess.  Dont get me wrong I dont like the shotgun 100% of the time, Im more old school, but if we can win games, then bring it on.

The Hog

Mississippi 7 Missouri 24  9:05 in the 3rd.
Automatic RUN!

Seeing Leach's offense at tceh every year makes me think of them when watching Mizzou.  It's making me not like Mizzou.  Hopefully Mitch and Gus go a little more vertical than those two teams.  This offense is a lot like what Daniel's hs team Southlake Carroll runs.

The Hog

24 - 7 Mizzou

7:19 still in the 3rd.
Automatic RUN!

BattleHawg

I'm not suprised... Mizzou has a pretty good team.

As has been oft said,  million dollar talent with a 10 cent brain.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Mizzou isnt a slouch.  Looks like their offense caught Ole Miss totally off guard.  Someone didnt do their homework?

Ole Miss isn't a very good team, but Missouri is a lot better than what I gave them credit for. The Rebels got outplayed in every phase of the game.

Brer Hog

Cole, Not much Hotty Totty being played today ... heh?

Hank351

Hey guys I've got a question.  Does Missouri have a better football program than we do right now???  I know that in our last bowl game we played them and we beat them, but since then they've improved their team better than we have.  I was suprised last week when I saw that they were getting votes to be in the top 25, so when I saw this game on TV I was intrigued to watch it.  I thought that Ole Piss was pretty impressive against Memphis last week, but Missouri demolished them.

Its kind of hard for me to believe that Missouri, I mean Missouri has a better football team, and even program than we do right now.

Is this really where we've gotten to???

ErieHog

No.   Missouri's weaknesses are partially hidden by the Big 12 North, but its telling that a phenomenal talent like Brad Smith, and the utter collapse of all other programs in the Big 12 North still couldn't buy them a single divisional title.

At least we got a Western Division crown with Matt.

Brer, that is correct, not much hotty totty at all.

I wouldnt necessarily say Mizzou is a better a program, or at a better place, but they have a lot of the pieces put together (sophomores) vs our freshman.  I can see a lot of similarities to Mizzou last year vs UofA this year.  Big thing -- I think we will be farther along by the end of this year than Mizzou was last year.

Cole, I trust Gus, but Nutt is the X-factor!  Scary, ain't it.  We'll see, maybe tonight!

bigyellowdog

Damn, that was an ass-whipping.  Wonder if the Ole Miss follks are getting tired of their coach yet?

We'll be able to answer that question when the Hogs play Ole Miss later this year. If we struggle with the Rebels, then one might think that Missouri is a better team than us. At this time, I would give a slight edge to Missouri. But we should have the advantage later in season when our offense improves under Gus, and Mitch.
