Culberson is someone who will be making a lot of money on Sundays in the NFL.  The man has been all over the field.

Very impressed with State's tailback Dixon.  Problem is that he'll have to fight for every yard just like Norwood did last year.

CDubyaP

I know it's South Carolina.....and most of the time defenses are ahead of offenses at this juncture of the season....but State's defense looks tough.

Hawg_Heaven

That is one smart kicker. That could have been a disaster.

Am I about to see Spurrier not score a TD?
When did that last happen?

Spurrier after the game...I called that fake punt brotha!

From what I hear on the Homer-Radio network of SC, the play wasn't so much a fake as an 'Oh sh%t, we forgot to block someone right up the middle'  play.  Heads up play by someone named Suckup.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

James K. Pork

South Carolina looks just like they did last year.  They are making a play here and there, doing just enough to win.

Succop has a good feel for pressure.  Helluva play from the punter.

Succup will be this games offensive MVP

Hey, he's flipped the field well, made the biggest offensive play of the night....why not?  Its not like anyone else has done a blessed thing for either team.

2nd best newcomer in the SEC last year.  If Carolina had a decent QB to get him the ball, they'd make a heckuva lot more noise than they will with Mitchell.

Take it back. Looks like it wasn't a catch. :-X

GREAT call on the challenge. . it was between the guy's legs and on the ground before he scooped it around, IMO .

Succop is your offensive MVP.  His punting has put State in poor field position.

This is an old-fashioned game.  A punter/kicker like this can be huge in this situation.

missippihog

Watch out, state is moving the ball, well backwards on that play but were looking good.

The Pulse

terrible play call on third down right there

Dang, what an ugly game.  I hope we can move the ball better on Saturday.  Some great lessons for our players and coaches from this game though.

James K. Pork

Yep, the way Rutland and Lance Long were operating Croom should have went to the air again.

doo-ran

yup. there's another good punt 48 yards.

Cresthog

Dixon is a decent freshman running back

They've got some talent in the skill positions.

It just goes to show how important the offensive line is in the success of any offense.

I believe State's going to pull this one out.  The mo is definately in their favor.

If they can get a good break, they will pull it out. So far, they haven't had that good break they need.

doo-ran

Real quick: I know many of you are already in NWA. What's going on tomorrow night usual stuff or anything special. Also, central Arkansans: Who is heading up tomorrow?

Hawg_Heaven

That 4th down looked vaguely familiar except we were on our side of the field.

Absolutely brilliant.  Spurrier knows when to go for the kill.

They had the break on the first play of the game, but did nothing with it.  Now, it doesn't matter anymore.

Trick Play just killed the Dogs.

Before the flubbed 4th and 1 by MSU I was just telling the Mrs. either MSU has got their shiite together and is going to be worthy this season, or SCAR has absolutely not progressed under Spurrier.

Spurrier is not blossoming as much as I'd expected. I figured this game would be a blow out early. Appearantly with out the fertile valley of recruites he had in Florida, he's not all that.

Took a trick play to break the stale-mate.

When you have an offensive line that hasn't gotten the tough yard all night, then you might want to try a roll out and give Rutland a run/pass option instead.

I would be livid if I were a bulldog tonight.  A fine defense is going to get wasted by an offensive line that can't move the chains against 10 new Gamecock defensive starters.

S Car has been highly overhyped and overrated due to Spurrier.  That program has long way to go.

I agree.  That Ms St qb looks pretty good yet they aren't giving him a chance.  That 4th down call was horrific.  And how stupid do you have to be to not know(Houston Nutt) that Spurrier will go for a big play on a change of possession.  Happened to us twice last year.  Who is the idiot that coaches State's D?

Spurrier has never won in Mississippi.  That is about to change.

He's not the only offensive coach that will find the Dawgs a salty bunch on defense.

Thing is it isn't going to take much scoring to beat State.  State's defense must understand that they have to play near-perfect football to have any chance.  That is a morale-buster as the season wears on.

Move the tv into the office like I did. Totally interactive. And the boss said I couldn't multi-task. Pshtt! ;)

Arazorbackguy1

terrible play calling by Croom....   I feel sorry for State fans, not only because of their football team, but because they have to actually live in Starkville.
I have 10 to 12 points to make per game.
