Dang thats a very very tough choice.

Both will be highly ranked.

I along with many hogfans will be foaming at the mouth for this game and revenge factor. If we beat SC we instantly get national respect. On the other hand, beating SC does not help us get to Atlanta.

Both would be monumental wins of course. SC has been the best college football program in the last 5 years but yet again beating SC does not help us get to Atlanta.

Thats a tough choice. Id rather go 2-0.

hogsmaster

I know Auburn is a conference game and in most years, that would be more important than any nonconference opponent.  However, after being humiliated by SC last year, beating them will be very satisfying and it bolds well for our season.

hogfan13

YOu forgot South Carolina. What about the GameCooks

tiltinghog

I would take beating USC because if we do we will be in the top 20 and then if we win our next 3 in a row possibly top 10

BryantHog06

Most years Auburn but I will say USC because of the embarrassment of last year!

USC!  As important as conference games are, those guys and their fans really diss not only Arkansas but the SEC as well.   I would almost trade 2 losses, if arkansas could return the favor and beat the Trojans by about 60.

Auburn-- conference game, and can mean a shot at the SECCG.   That's the first step-- an SEC CG appearance, again, and hopefully a win this time.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

HogHillbilly

USC......................After what they did to us, and all the smack they have been talking.......
Plus we would hand them their first back to back loss in several years..........
We could still go to Atlanta if Auburn beats us..............Its a long shot, but it's still possible

By far, I would always have to go with the conference opponent, but this is an exception.  They beat us too bad last year.

USC

hambone

Ordinarily, I'd say Auburn.   This year, I'd have to go with USC.  Payback for last year.  We have the opportunity to beat Auburn every year.  Plus, USC will probably be the higher ranked team.  Besides that, getting beat by Auburn doesn't automatically eliminate us from winning the SEC.

YodaHog

USC.........I'm ready for the Hogs to defend their home turf.

Landonhog

After last year.....  USC...  Any other time in history, AUBIE!

EastexHawg

Auburn.

I used to kind of like Auburn...but all that changed for me in 2003.  First of all, their dishonesty regarding the holding call on George Wilson during Matt Jones' 78 yard TD run really got old.  It was obvious to anyone who actually watched the play and used any logic whatsoever while looking at the famous still photo of the play that Wilson did not hold (in that picture, Wilson's fist is buried straight into the turf, with his elbow at a 90 degree angle and his upper arm parallel to the ground.  What did Wilson use to hold Rosegreen...his elbow?), and yet Auburn fans refused to admit they got the benefit of a questionable (actually, BS) call.  Why couldn't they have just said, "Hey, we got lucky on that call...but we'll take it."

On top of that, their bragging drove me nuts.  Listen to any Auburn fan, and you would think they invented football, football uniforms, the Old South, and everything else having to do with the game and the SEC.

"Our uniforms were voted the best in college football"..."Our band is the best in the nation"..."Auburn is noted for the best hospitality in the world"...AAARRGGGHHH!!!

After listening to them, I would have thought they had won eight or ten national championships and had dominated the SEC for generations...instead of three SEC titles or whatever it was at the time.

Besides, Auburn is a conference game...

Auburn.  That's why we should start Mitch from day one.

Too bad, doesn't look like that is going to happen.  We will regret it.

USC!!! We could still make it to Atlanta with a conference loss if it's the only one we have. I can wait to beat Auburn another year as long as we whip those California thugs this season.

AUSTXHOG

This year I gotta say SoCal.  Living in Texas, this is the only game I'll be able to attend this year so I want to see the place go CRAZY with a win.

On a sidenote.. I just found out today that I got tickets.  My bro called me up and told me his fiance got 14 tickets in the visitors section.  We'll have 11 of those seats packed with screamin' Hog fans and only 3 for USC.  I hope I don't have to move by the end of the 1st half.

merccedes

i think it may more important for this team to beat usc just this once

PigManLives

USC....... last season was the single most embarrasing moment I can ever remember as a Hog fan.  Plus, USC is a top 5 team and a win will almost certainly carry us to a great season.

I want to beat USC more than ive ever wanted to win ANY game!  except texass of course.

I'd rather beat USC, but the logical choice is Auburn.  But I think that beating USC would do more for our program.

I'd do the same. LaRussa's a nutjob and would probably throw at his head.

I want to go 11-1 with the one loss being to Auburn. Then end the season 13-1

HeadOverHill

Tough decision, but I'm going with USC. Payback is necesary in this case.

Bol Hog

USC , not only as a payback, but also to get some confidence going in our freshman and some confidence back to the guys that suffered the nationally televised cathasthrophe last year.

You want to lose one game?  Why not go undefeated...I mean, you've got us winning a BCS bowl, beating USC, LSU, Tenn...why Auburn?

Atreyu

OK, another question.

Would you rather scrape by USC and get blown out by Auburn, or vice versa.

Auburn, then we'd get Ziemba and Burns...

I couldn't care less what we are ranked by the media.  We were ranked high in 2003 early on to and we know how that ended.  I'd rather finish strong and win a lot of SEC games than have a fluke of a victory over USC and go .500 or worse in SEC play...

Beating either would mean knocking off a preseason favorite.

Beating Auburn would mean beating a preseason favorite plus a conference rival.  Beating USC would look good nationally and would be great because we owe them one.

The answer is Auburn.

I would rather beat Auburn by 1 point than beat USC by 2.  I would rather beat USC by 21 points than Auburn by 20.

I was going to say Auburn because it is the conference.  USC is going to be watched all over the nation.  They are a powerhouse and this would help get the Hogs back on the map.  It would get people talking and recruits opening their eyes.  I also think it would be a big boost to this young team.  Give them some confidence.  It is hard but USC.

MLH, I get it but think about this.  If we beat Auburn, we have an increased chance at an even better national audience in the S.E.C. Championship game.

I don't think the there is any game we could play, short of a great bowl game, this year that will give us as much national attention as playing USC on ESPN for our first game of the season.  If we could beat USC that might carry us through the whole season.  Talk about a confidence boost for a young team...

That is true also.  I am talking about how the national media get boners everytime they talk about USC.  Auburn just does not have that type of media attention.  It is a toss up but I am trying to look at the big picture.  I really don't know if this team has what it takes to get to the championship this year.

Even though Auburn is a conference game, I have to say USC for two reasons.  The first is redemption for last year.  The second is recruiting would really pick up.
