part of me is wondering what is so big about the Bomar issue that it deserved a sticky on the Arkansas board.   We dont even play these guys this year (or anyone in their conference for that matter)

Maybe it is just nice for the Razorback Nation to see OU can now assume our place on the throne of the most recently caught teams.  And, maybe it's just nice to see potential recruiting opportunities open up because of it.  This is big news for us, no doubt.

I'll admit it, I'm a Stoops fan.  Have been for quite a while.
I have a feeling that on the field OU will come out smelling like roses.  Now as far as the investigation, probation, etc., I can't speculate, but, on the field, he will have them ready to play and win games, probably more than us this year (and I'm predicting 9-3 for us).
Stoops simply gets the job done and you can bet, in 2011, nobody at OU, not Stoops or any of the talk show hosts "connected" to the program, will be blaming anything on the investigation.  That excuse had legs for about 3 days here at Arkansas and people were STILL blaming losses on it last year, pathetic.  That will not happen at OU.

I don't really care because I hate OU.

So, when I read about all of this, I started wondering how fast that Oregeron (sp?) was on the plane to Norman, to start recruiting Bomar.  He could even pick up another OL.  Guess he could solve the Shaeffer problem real quick.

Latest reports say Schaeffer will play.

Memphis Commercial Appeal is stating that Bomar has been accepted and has enrolled in classes at OM.  Looks like he'll be eligible after all-- not that any of us are suprised by this.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Let's see how Stoops handles a cloud.

That is if this turns out true.

I have heard nothing so far.

My money is like a true professional- like how Butch handled it at Miami, not like how amateur hour did here at Ark

I will be interested in this, too.  I wonder if Stoops, OU, and their fans will try to blame everything negative that happens in the next five or six years on "the investigation."

Who is the AD at Oklahoma these days?  Is it still Steve Owens?

Whoever it is, what are the odds that he will soon issue a statement telling the fans to be "patient" with Stoops for the next couple of years...and giving Bob a "free pass" until the 2008 or 2009 season.

I would say slim and none.

Wait until Stoops considers bailing for another program.

I wouldn't bet the ranch on that pardner.

I like the classy posts by the couple of oklahoma fans. They didnt have any slams on Arkansas which is unusual.

ALot of my friends are die hard sooner fans and they seem to think that they still have a shot at the championship. "We still have Adrian." Yes AD is very very good but one man cannot win a national championship. Im sorry but defenses are much different than they used to be. AD is not gonna avg 220 yards per game and 3 TDs. Aint gonna happen when teams are so geared to stopping him.

Paul Thompson may be the right choice for now. If you're gonna have a QB who hasnt done anything, might as well have one that can run and pass. Thompson was pretty painful in the one game i saw him start in though.  He's been at WR for about a year now.

Face it, this puts OU in a horrible position. Bomar was the future of the program and was groomed to take this team to the National Championship. It will be a very very interesting August in Norman, Oklahoma to say the least.

In reality, OU went from probably a 12 win season to a 8 or 9 win season. OU will still be good but probably not as good as they could have been .

The Sooners won't win the NC, I didn't think they would get to the NC game this season anyways.  I will be happy with a BCS game of some sort, perhaps out of winning the Big XII Championship game.

If we start Halzle then it may just turn up like the two seasons we had under Nate Hybl.  The only difference is, I hope Halzle can beat OSU which is the game Hybl couldn't win.  A two loss season doesn't break my heart any.

Paul Thompson is who you want to go with and who OU will go with. With an OL as suspect as ou's they may struggle to protect him in passing situations. If you are gonna have to go with a QB who has the ability to escape pressure and make plays like we had to with Matt Jones.

Nutts and Bolts

AP set a goal of 2200 yds this year... I am sure that will not even be approached now.  The line of scrimage will be verrrrrry crowded all year...
