Will Lofton break Pat Bradley's 3-point SEC record this season?

QuoteLofton can't be labeled a 3-point specialist anymore. He started attacking the basket more last season and it paid off handsomely. Lofton attempted 159 free throws, 58 more than his first two seasons combined. That number helped lead to Associated Press SEC Player of the Year honors. Still, it's Lofton's quick release, pinpoint accuracy and uncanny range that set him apart from the rest. He is on pace to shatter the SEC record for career 3-pointers, needing 54 to pass former Arkansas guard Pat Bradley's mark of 366.

Unless he goes down with an injury, he's likely to break that mark.

If Rotnei Clarke comes here, that record will go down

you've gotta have a lot of things work out for you to break a record like this.  if you look at pat and lofton, they were able to stay away from serious injuries.  but almost as important as that, they played for teams that required them to log a ton of minutes from their freshman year on, and they stayed all four years.  you need four good years of solid playing time, and great shooting, to break this record.  there have been a lot of great shooters in the sec who just never had the chance to go after this record, either due to injury, or because they had to wait their turn to play.  lofton is going to set the bar high.  looks like somewhere in the low 400's.  whoever the next person is to take a shot at the record will need almost as much luck as they will skill.  i hope rotnei's the guy!

Chris Lofton is a great player.  I wouldn't mind holding the record.
Bradley was a great player to watch.

Did it annoy anyone else that 2 of this guy's top 3 shooting guards are freshmen?

Not if you've seen those guys play.  Don't know if they should be ranked above the established players though.

Classification isn't as critical in basketball as it is in football.  Beverley was clearly our best player last year as a true freshman.
I realize but these kids haven't played a game yet.  Let's not just assume they're better than all these guys that have been playing college ball for years.

GO HOGS!

54 3 pointers in 30 games? i'm a no math major, well i am (was) but just for the sake of this joke... i'm no math major but i think that he only has to average 3 or 4 three pointers per game to break it.....
