The Cache river and Cache river relief canal are all just south of town. That is alot of hard territory to cover. I sure have prayed for this family and young lady. I'm expecting the worst, Hoping for the best.

You really have to get into Jackson County before the Cache River isn't channelized.

Sunday update, lots of volunteers today from all over NEA, lots of people walking and on atvs. Also had a dog team today from TN that checked a couple areas. Thanks to everyone who came out today to search and to all who brought food. Heard from several folks that local churches said prayers for Sidney, her family and the searchers, thank you for the support. TES is doing a great job getting volunteers organized and all volunteers for tomorrow are asked to report to the Walnut Ridge Community Center at 9 am. Again thank you to everyone.

WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - The search for 14-year-old Sidney Nicole Randall enters another day Monday, with searchers searching by land, water, and air.

According to Walnut Ridge Police, the Texas Equa Search Team from Cincinnati, Ohio, will begin taking over all ground search operations of the investigation. Walnut Ridge Police Chief Richy Thatcher told Region 8 News this will allow officers to begin paroling the town again, and give them a mental and physical break from the search.

Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson said this will also allow investigators time to focus on the investigation and track down any tips that come into the call center.

Texas Equa Search Coordinator David Rader told Region 8 News, "Our forte is when we come in, we organize the searches, we get them together we do the mapping we do everything we're their eyes and ears on the ground."

Along with adding the Texas Equa Search Team, Southeast K-9 Search and Rescue has been requested to help with search efforts. http://www.kait8.com/story/21568161/...n-enters-day-7

Today, Sheriff Jody Dotson accompanied members of the Lawrence County Dive Team as they cleared several areas of interest as well as re-searched areas.

The first initial search performed today was on a waist deep ditch on Lawrence 405, Dive Team members waded the water after several K-9's alerted on the area late Sunday night. Members also used ATV's to check the swampy area around the ditch, nothing was located.

After reporting their findings back to the command center which has been moved to the Walnut Ridge Community Center, the Sheriff accompanied the Dive Team back to Running Water near where the body of John Cornell was discovered last Monday.

LCSO Dive Team Members traveled Running Water again, retracing original searches. The water has subsided some 2 feet, the creek is dry in many place allowing searchers to examine the bottom. The fields and farm roads in the area of the 400's was searched again, hoping to yield new clues.

Sheriff Dotson stated that no new credible leads had come into his office or the WRPD. Dotson and Chief Thatcher have had constant communication though this entire situation.

Texas Equusearch is on scene at the Walnut Ridge Community Center's Command Post, according to Chief Thatcher or the Walnut Ridge Police Department, Equusearch organizes volunteers and keeps a record of areas searched by those volunteering, reporting findings back to Chief Thatcher and Sheriff Dotson. The Arkansas State Police continues to assist investigators from WRPD and LCSO.

http://wreg.com/2013/03/18/search-for-missing-teen-now-a-recovery-mission/

(Lawrence County, AR) It looks like searchers have given up hope of finding 14-year-old Sidney Nicole Randall alive.

Teams from all across the country have flown in to Lawrence County, Arkansas to help find Sidney.

Monday, the operation changed to a recovery mission instead of a search and rescue,

"With each and every day, it doesn't look good."

Dave Rader, with "Texas EquuSearch" believes the odds now of finding Sidney alive are bleak, "Being this is the eighth or ninth day now that we're going into this, we're probably gearing ourselves more toward a recovery than finding somebody alive, unfortunately."

Rader's search and rescue organization is working with Lawrence County deputies to find the 14-year old Walnut Ridge girl, who was last seen March 9th.

Randall was believed to be with her stepfather, John Cornell, after she was missing from her home in Walnut Ridge.

Cornell was found dead March 10th and there's been no trace of Sidney.

Joining the recovery effort are members of Southeast K-9 Search and Rescue in McEwen, Tennessee.

The team has also been involved in the search for missing nursing student Holly Bobo from Decatur County, Tennessee.

Chris Williams, who handles a search dog named Bear,  says so far there's only one similarity between the two missing persons cases, "The only thing that you could really say is that there's no trace of them, and that remains to be seen. I mean until everything's covered, you can't rule out anything."

The disappearance of Sidney Randall has been heartbreaking for people in Walnut Ridge.

"We don't know where she is. We don't know whether she is alive or whether she is deceased."

Mayor Don House says more volunteers are expected to join the search no matter how long it takes, "We need to keep people out there just as long as we can, until we find this young lady."

Mayor House says his town has never experienced anything like this and he's overwhelmed by the number of people searching for Sidney.

http://www.imbodenlive.com/2013/03/19/latest-updates-on-missing-sidney-randall-efforts-continue-on-wednesday/

The search for missing 14-year-old Sidney Randall continues in  Lawrence County. Texas Equusearch volunteers have joined the Walnut Ridge Police  and Lawrence County Sheriff's investigation into the missing  youth.
Sidney Randall was last seen at her residence in Walnut Ridge by  her mother, Denise Cornell, around 10 pm on Saturday night.  Denise Cornell awoke in the  early Sunday morning hours to find her daughter, Sidney Randall and Sidney's stepfather, John Cornell, missing from the residence. The  mother stated that she had called the local hospital and 911 reporting the  disappearance .   The stepfather returned alone to the residence later  that morning (reported asking Denise Cornell why she was up), the mother then stated that Sidney was missing. John Cornell reportedly replied "bull**** and then said he would go to the police station , he then left the residence in his red ford truck.  John Cornell never returned home or contacted authorities of Sidney's disappearance.
Authorities in Lawrence County  began a massive search for John Cornell and Sidney Randall, giving descriptions  of the 2000 Red Ford Ranger, asking the public to be on the lookout.  No signs of a struggle were seen at the home and both Cornell and Sidney's cell phones and Cornell's laptop computer were still at the residence.  Sidney was last seen wearing a brown aeropostale hoodie but no other clothing descriptions were given.  (Denise Cornell made several statements that Sidney would not have left the home willingly or without her cosmetics and also that her husband, John Cornell had become increasingly possessive of Sidney, restricting her time with friends and her phone. )
Monday  afternoon, Sheriff Dotson and Walnut Ridge Police received a call reporting a  vehicle matching the description of Mr. Cornell's truck  on a field road just off Lawrence 438.  Officers arrived to find the truck and John Cornell's body. Cornell was located  behind the truck some 200 yards with an apparent self-inflicted gun shot to the  head. Investigators from the Arkansas State Police joined the investigation,  Cornell was found to be laying on top of the weapon, the 45 caliber pistol that  was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for testing.
The investigation into the missing youth was centered around the  area in which the stepfather's body was located, the truck belonging to John  Cornell has yet to reveal many  clues according to Sheriff Dotson. Cornell  was discovered wearing shorts, t-shirt and work boots at the time of his death.  The victims hat and glasses were on the ground beside the body. There were no  apparent signs of Sidney Randall in the truck, the truck has since been  re-examined by police. Authorities do know that Sidney Randall had been in the  truck as recently as Saturday.  Sheriff Dotson stated that no blood was found in the truck.
A Morgan Nick Amber alert was issued for Sidney Randall on March 11th, 2013.
Sidney Nicole Randall -Age and/or DOB: 7/15/1998 Missing Date: 3/9/2013 Missing Time: 10:00 pm Missing from City: Walnut Ridge, AR Missing from County: Lawrence Sex: Female Race: White Height: 5'04″ Weight: 85 lbs Hair: brown hair/long Eyes: green  Sidney has braces. Complexion is described as: Unknown Circumstances Her safety is feared.

John Cornell was an avid outdoorsman and frequented several spots  on local lakes and hunting habitats throughout Lawrence County, authorities have  compiled a list of these places and search them with no results. The area of  Running Water Creek was searched and re-searched by the Lawrence County Dive  Team, deputies have also used ATV's to travel the banks of Running Water Creek.  As soon as the body of John Cornell was discovered in the location, a helicopter from the Arkansas State Police  was brought in for an air search. Since then, numerous air units have searched  not only Running Water but a large portion of the county.
A county-wide message was sent through the media for property  owners to search their property and report findings to the Lawrence County  Dispatch by Sheriff Dotson to help in the search efforts. K-9 searches have been  conducted using several dozen dogs and handlers throughout the county with no  results.
On Wednesday, the Lawrence County Dive Team will accompany two K-9  units from Shelby County to search another portion of the Black River after dogs  alerted on Tuesday evening, Texas Equusearch will be joining the  team.
Sheriff Dotson still urges the public to report any sighting of  John Cornell last weekend to the Sheriff's Investigators.
Anyone with any valid information in this case who might provide clues concerning John Cornell or Sidney Randall should contact : (870) 886-2525.

Wednesday's Search Yields Possible Clues, But No Answers Yet In Disappearance

K-9's from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office were brought into Lawrence County today after articles of clothing were found on a field road off Lawrence 500. The K-9 teams were requested by Sheriff Dotson and the Equusearch team. The area of interest was on the Black River next to the county road.

Members of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Dive Team, Pocahontas Fire Department Dive Team and David Rader of Texas Equusearch launched boats at the Black Rock boat ramp and proceeded down river. According to the K-9 handlers, the dogs demonstrated positive signs in the area adjacent to the same area that clothing articles were found on Tuesday evening.

The Pocahontas Dive Team ran sonar through the area but were not able to locate anything. The positive hits by the K-9's is not proof positive of a person being in the river, but each lead has to be followed up on and ruled out before searchers move on.

Texas Equusearch has requested another sonar search of the area, more sonar equipment is being brought in from New Orleans tonight. Searchers will resume the search on the Black River tomorrow. Other volunteers were in the county today, searching by walking and ATV's.

LCSO Dive Team And Equusearch Teams Complete Sonar Search Of Black River

On Thursday, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Dive Team with equipment from Texas Equusearch searched the Black River from where the Spring and Black meet all the way down to Powhattan. The search stemmed from K-9 alerts in the area, both on land and in water.

The equipment used today was state-of-the-art sonar showing a clear picture of the Black River's bottom and it's contents. The search yielded no victim in the water, the search was video recorded by the dive team and is being reviewed but no apparent targets were identified.

Sheriff Dotson met with Dive Team members and debriefed the information obtained during the search. Over the last two days, the Equusearch Team and LCSO Dive Team have concentrated on the Black River. Other volunteers were out in the field today searching but according to Sheriff Dotson, nothing new has turned up in the case of missing 14 year old Sidney Randall.

According to sources, there is no indication or solid leads that put the victim in or near the Black River with the exception of the K-9 alerts in the area. The searches over the last two days were designed to rule out any possible areas.

Thanks! I got involved with this case, when my daughter came home from WinterJam, and told me about the call (could have been a text) a boy got at the concert. I has puzzled me that the phones where left at home. How/Where did this phone (text) call come from? Time line would been about 9:30. Alot of questions. No answers.

Did JC come home after the fact, and use SR phone with a text to throw all her friends off? He came home hoping that no one would notice that he and SR had been gone. He could quietly slip back in bed and be suprised that SR was gone? So many questions.

The "Find Sidney Nicole Randall" page deleted the Post of the Winterjam because it turned out as a fake.

On the other Sidney page a woman said that it was another Sidney not SR.

Search Continues In Lawrence County As Officers Investigate Leads

Search Dogs South out of Mississippi arrived today at the Walnut Ridge Police Complex to join the search for 14 year old Sidney Randall.

The search effort in Lawrence County has become a combined effort between the Walnut Ridge Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff's Office. Texas Equusearch was coordinating the volunteer search effort until they left on Monday, Chief Thatcher and Sheriff Dotson have since combined efforts to not only continue the search but also to coordinate the volunteer efforts in the county.

Searchers today investigated several areas that were called in as areas that John Cornell was known to visit. Todays search yielded no clues but searchers were able to rule them out.

New flyers and web information will be released in the next 24 hours as the WRPD and LCSO reorganize the efforts to find Sidney Randall.

The new Sidney Randall Search Coordinator phone number is 870-844-2901 if you would like to volunteer or have information, you are urged to contact this number.

http://www.imbodenlive.com/2013/03/31/saturdays-sidney-randall-search-has-large-turnout-despite-weather/

Saturday morning, 245 confirmed volunteers and 20 plus Law  Enforcement Officers met at the Walnut Ridge Police Complex before moving into  the area of Portia and Clover Bend to continue the search for missing 14 year  old Sidney Randall.
As the search is about to enter the third week, the Walnut Ridge  Police Department in a joint effort with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office  organized the second volunteer search since the disappearance of Sidney Randall.
Along with horse riders, atv riders and searchers, 13 search boats  from all over the State of Arkansas entered the area and searched the entire  area despite the rainy weather. The area of the county searched was an area from  Clover Bend to Portia along the county roads and field roads, boaters, kayaks  and canoes searched Portia Bay, Shirey Bay, several unnamed bodies of water and  the Black River from Spring River to the Jackson County line.
According to organizers, searchers did a well organized search of  the areas. Four search districts were established with three being on land and  one on water. Each area received a mix of horse riders, atv and walkers to clear  the assigned area. Several articles of clothing were discovered  in the area, but none believed to belong to the missing.
The City of Portia opened it's Community Center up to volunteers  who were served sandwiches, chips and drinks for lunch, thanks to donations  received to feed the volunteers.
Several groups of horses were on hand, including the Lawrence  County Mounted Patrol and the Craighead County Mounted Patrol. Individuals from  as far away and southern Louisiana and Hobart Indiana joined in the search on  Saturday. Search Teams from Randolph County, Lawrence County, Pope County and  fire department members from all across the state mixed with volunteers from  across the state to assist the search efforts.
With the Saturday search complete, organizers will meet again on  Monday to review the maps and decide on organized future searches. Officers from  the WRPD and deputies from the Sheriff's Office continue each day to follow up  on calls and search areas of interest.

Thanks CT for these up-dates. It sounds like the community, law enforcement and volunteers are doing their best. Hope she is found soon.

Jeff "hogfanintx" Anderson

I really appreciate the updates, and love seeing so many coming together for a good cause.  That said everyday I check this thread hoping to see she has been found.  If for no other reason closure should it be as bad as it appears.
Let's make some waves.
