"Earlier this month, FanAngel launched in Beta with the mission of opening the door for fans to influence whether a college athlete leaves his school or returns for another season of NCAA regulated competition.  The way that it works is that "pledges" made by fans who hope to influence players to remain at their favorite schools are held in escrow while the players retain their student-athlete eligibility (as proscribed by the NCAA, which is required to compete in what is considered by the NCAA to be amateur athletics)."

Ha, I don't know what to make of it. On one hand, I think college players should be paid, but not like this (just for their likeness). On the other hand, this could go wrong in a number of ways.
