Averaged 30.7 points, 8 rbs, 3.1 assists, 3.6 steals and hit 35-110 on 3pt shots.   All District and All State.

Danny J

I love the steals numbers.......really need a complete guard although I wish his 3 point % was higher.

3pt shooting is way too similar to BJ.

Much better all around player than BJ IMO.  Just watch the tape. His shot is 3x what BJ's was/is.

Swinesong1

Forgot to add, he shot over 50℅ from field and scored more than 45% of his team's points this season.

lefty08

I think his % will go up from 3 when he's not expected to score all his team's points lol

Losing gracefully isn't taught in second-tier programs. See Arkansas, Cincinnati, et al.

Whitt will probably be around a 35-40% three point shooter here. He will be able to select his shots better with more talent around him. His shot looms better than BJ Young.

BayofPigs

speaking of BJ young, why did he not stay here longer??

I don't know but he was a liability and kind of glad he left when he did. He was a ball hog who's shot only got worse.

Dr. Starcs

Let's just say the coaches weren't sad to see him go either.

Right. Bj was a very incomplete player but he had NBA type quickness. Just didn't have the skill to match at the time.

Breems

That is bad 3-point shooting. Kinda depressing if it stays that way and he can't become a triple threat.

Yeah, he's terrible!  How dare he shoot that bad of a 3pt percentage!  I had a long running thread throughout the season where several coaches and/or writer's said he was their only offensive threat.  He scored 45% of the TEAM's TOTAL points this season.  Yet, he still hit half of his shots!  Several games he outscored the entire opposing team!  You guys are really, really hopeless.

thebignasty

More or less Jordan's 3pt percentage for his career in the NBA.

Clearly, he's not Jordan.  Its okay to shoot 30ish% from three, though.

Big Nasty 34

Ok, what was his 3 pt shooting his junior year when he didn't have to carry the team?

You can be defensive if you must, but I am not sure I know the story where a player became a better 3 point shooter in college. Haven't seen him play it could be he had to force a bunch of bad shots when they were trailing, but the guys in his ranking area usually shoot closer to 40% than 30 in HS, so it can be a little worrisome.

Wild Bill Hog

I'm looking forward to his being a Hog.

Nipsey Mussle

The videos I've seen he is usually doing a step back jumper. Very much different than spotting up from 3. Sounds like he had the ball in his hands a crazy % of the time for their team.
I had a bigger issue with 3 assists per game. I'm assuming there were guys wide open very often for them. I'm envisioning 18 players diving at him on a shot like they would Coffee Black on the movie Semi Pro.

I don't know about you but watching Whitt's video I think of Keith Wilson's defensive abilities. I see Whitt getting a lot of steals.  Triple digits is possible after year 1.

This years example on our team would be qualls.
Edit-
Nope, he shot 33% in high school and this year... 33%

Not defensive at all.  I've just never seen a group that will immediately see the negative in ANYTHING hoops related.  Not having a good 3 pt percentage does not mean you aren't a good shooter.  His overall field goal percentage proves that.  Secondly, Rip Hamilton is a perfect example of a player who was a scorer, shot a decent percentage inside the 3 pt line but didn't have a good 3 pt percentage.  Wrap your brain around ONE player scoring almost half his team's points for the season while leading them in rebounds, assists, blocks and steals.  That would be too easy tho.  Let's zero in on his 3 pt percentage and his assist average.  Typical jumpball!

Pretty sure this kid will improve in every facet, including three pt percentage.  He has a tremendous upside.

pick_DA_EAGLES

Whitt is not going to be expected to be the 3 point specialist for the HOGS, that will be Hannahs role.

Remember Jordan is a career 33% 3 pt shooter and when he first came in the league he shot less than 20%.  Not comparing him to MJ but 3pt shooting isn't the most important thing
