We gotta get him. Give Mike another season, if we underachieve, get this guy. Hopefully Beard stays another year at Little Rock so we can grab him after next season. The guy is a tireless worker and is the type of coach we need.

I'm watching the selection show and they are calling it "Little Rock".  It's not UALR anymore?

They go by "Little Rock Trojans" now.

Not wanting to knock him, but I am not interested in a coach that has one year of experience.  Reminds me of Heath.  He might be great, but right now with his total body of work he is no where near what we have at the moment.
If a man speaks and no woman is around to hear him, is he still wrong?

Or we could hire him to teach Mike how he coaches defense.

I'm sure he is better than what we have.

Could be. Then again could not be.  Hate MA if you want, but he has turned the program around from where we were before him.

Don't hate MA that would be rediculous to hate someone because they are bad at coaching.

Beard brought in 10 new players and he managed to get them to buy in and play this well together.

I said this in another thread - if the Hogs were ever going to go after a UALR coach they would have made a run at Foley instead of hiring Dykes.
I just don't think they would try to hire a coach away from UALR.
Inside every "older" person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened?

Just like it would be ridiculous to hate someone because they are bad at posting and/or spelling.  It does make me devalue their opinion though.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

Can't argue with this, particularly after the Heath debacle.  However, JFB won't be making this hire, and Beard is a Bob Knight disciple.  Was watching the game with a buddy today.  During a TO, Beard shot off the bench and got in one of his player's faces.  Gave him an earful and was passionately pleading with him to do something.  Turned to my buddy and we were both remarked how we haven't seen that on the Hog bench in over five years.

Last post in the Tavern here.  See you guys.  Have fun.

Yep, coaches that scream and get in players faces are much more passionate about coaching

Losing gracefully isn't taught in second-tier programs. See Arkansas, Cincinnati, et al.

You say you don't see Mike coach with passion, but you are just seeing what you want.

JFB didn't hire Heath.  John White was the guy.

John White set our athletic department back into the dark ages with his petty fit of childish envy toward JFB.
