Gragg was injured last weekend [season ending] and today he was placed on the waived/ injured list with CB Jonathan Dowling, TE Chris Gragg, and OL Justin Renfrow.

If Chris Gragg is cut: with him being in the final year of his deal and Buffalo needing a roster spot he will collect $675k and all of his medical will be paid while he rehabs. Bad thing is he was working into a solid TE 2 and probably could have gotten a nice 3/4 year deal with a decent season. He'll be starting at ground zero with a team next year.

You do realize that teams only carry one field goal kicker at a time don't you?  Probably the hardest position to make a team at.

shelf life of a kicker is a bit longer than average too.  Hocker's a good kicker, someone will make him the guy when what they have wears out.  It says a lot that he's been able to bounce around the league roster to roster as needed.  Lots of kickers wish they were so fortunate.

Saying these players working to make an NFL team suck - just doesn't sit quite right.
Bash Petrino if you feel the need - no need to bash these players.
Hocker was great a player for us.
We have missed him the last few years - sure wish we had another just like him on campus right now.

We've had great kickers going back 40 years who never made it in the NFL.
