The Hogs replace a great QB, a great RB and college's best TE from last season, along with 3 new starters on the O line. The D was one of the worst vs the pass in all of college football. They are going to be improved vs the pass but not suddenly top notch.

This team will have a very good season if they can finish 8-4.

Bama, LSU, TAM, OM, MSU, AUB, FL, TCU. If we beat all of those teams, plus win the SEC championship and then go on to win the national championship, this would be the greatest team in Razorback history.

That's incredible. Arkansas was a 3 TD favorite with both Vegas and Online books giving them a -1400 ML at best. I know it can vary with local bookies, but didn't realize it could go quite that far lol

A few years ago Auburn went from terrible one season to being within seconds of winning the BCS championship the next year. Just have to play well, avoid injuries and maybe most importantly have some luck on our side. Wonderful thing about this time of the year is everyone is tied with the same record regardless of where you start out ranked.

That's along the lines of what I thought too.  It wasn't that long ago when a slew of threads appeared in MMQB stating anything better than 6-6 should be considered a success this year.  We are still talking about the same team aren't we?

My bottom line was 9 then as well, people were poor-mouthing way too much, like many in this thread. of course 9 was my number last year, but I was confident 9 was all they could get last year. TT and Toledo spoiled that. This year my top number is 11, so there is a difference. I believe there will be little to no difference at QB, the OL will actually be better, defense can't do anything but get better, and the schedule is way more favorable.

So yeah in my mind with some luck and health they could win the whole damn thing :razorback:

Until we show a killer instinct against Bama and Florida, it's hard to claim we'll have a chance in those two. The rest, maybe.

A win in that TCU game will go a long way.

A key part of maintaining sanity is living your life with realistic expectations.

I think one in 130 is about right.  I expect us to win 9.  Anything more is icing.  Anything less will hurt a while, but I'll probably get over it.  I say probably because I have never gotten over the Big Shootout.

We're just having fun before reality sets in. My brain recognizes this is true. 8-4 would be very acceptable this year and next year expectations would return to what they were last year. Not bad, a one year gap.....closing that gap to zero is the goal.

I like to be pleasantly surprised.  I had us at 6 - 6 before the spring game, but my expectations are up to 7 - 5.  I'm hoping for 8 - 4.  Anything better than that is a National Coach of the Year performance based on what we have coming back.

I always go into every season thinking something magical can happen.  This year is no different.   

From a realists viewpoint, it's highly improbable.  We are replacing a ton of exceptional players and last time I checked we still play in the toughest division in college football.  Add to that we play what might be the best team in the East and what may be a top 10 team in TCU. 

Improbable but not impossible.

I feel better about this team than any since 2012. Biggest reason, both lines are as talented as UA has ever had IMO.

0-11 or 11-0 will affect my life in no tangible way, why do I have to be realistic?

We're too young an inexperienced at key positions. 

We have talent to have a great season, but it all comes down to how the new guys step up.

No, the Hogs lose too much on defense after this season to go 11-2 next year. 8-4 would be a good year in 2017.
