Update on Mike: He's doing fairly well. Tolerating food and no nauseau or pain from the gallbladder. He's reallly starting to feel the pain from his colon surgery - which is to be expected. We've been told by the doctor on call this weekend that Mike will probably be released from hospital tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

You guys and girls keep praying!

Thanks.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

No doubt about it. It's good to hear that Mike is home and recovering well.

The show was a replay because John Nabors played in a golf tourney today. I have lost my voice and could not say my name right now much less do a radio show. I'm going to go back to work tomorrow to do some writing on our website. I doubt I'll be at Saturday's game but we'll see.

My gallbladder is still intact. Taking it out at this time would be extremely difficult because it is located in an area where my colon resection was done.

Sometime in January all the parts will be rejoined and the gall bladder taken out. Hopefully that will be my last trip to the hospital except as an occasional visitor. In the meantime, as my surgeon put it, "We carved you up pretty good. You are loaded with stitches and you will be feeling them for a while. Take your meds. They're your friends. But don't drive while you're on them."

There have been many kind visitors and others wishing me well here and on Facebook & Twitter. I thank you all.

Best personality in the state. Hope he's back to full strength soon. We need more Monk takes!
"If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that?
