I am sure I will be blown away when these world beaters start committing to Coach Cal, but the wait is infuriating.

I saw an interview with 5* Kentucky decommit Jayden Quaintance yesterday.  He said he could not talk to other schools and coaches yet due to NIL.  I imagine that is the case with several of the players that are looking to transfer.

Report: Jerry Jones makes lucrative offer to Kentucky commits to come to Arkansas

by: Sam Gillenwater

QuoteBooster backing is clearly abundant for Arkansas Basketball since their hiring of former Kentucky coach John Calipari. That's now continuing as the Razorbacks hit the recruiting trail to put together an actual roster for him, including a reported commitment by Arkansas alum and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that'd be quite the offer if true.

The alleged proposal is reportedly "double" the NIL money that they were offered to sign with Kentucky in order to flip their commitments to Arkansas.

"Jerry Jones is reportedly offering DOUBLE whatever the Kentucky commits were making to come to Arkansas, per @trillydonovan," College Basketball Report wrote on Twitter. "Jerry Jones is an Arkansas booster and reportedly helped them hire John Calipari last week."

If correct, it's uncertain of how Jones would be paying out such a so-called contribution. However, it would all but certainly be in connection to a collective for the Razorbacks. That could be with Athlete Advocate Consortium, Arkansas EDGE, or otherwise.

It's also unclear how notable the figure from Jones actually would be. There's no suspected amount about these commits were going to make in name, image, and likeness while at Kentucky, which makes it difficult to calculate what "double" exactly would mean...

Before leaving the bluegrass, Calipari had recruited the No. 2 class.

The Razorback fan base is so shell shocked due to the destruction of our football program since Bobby was fired they will not accept any good news. Dark side until they can't anymore. I don't blame them, but Petrino at OC changes things. The portal has helped the hogs too, as the OL for 2024 is going to be better. My eyes don't lie. No, it won't be like one of the better Bama lines but it won't be the 2023 disaster. I think QB play will be better due to the fact Bobby is a much better play caller and won't ask the impossible like Enos did.

As for Bobby leaving for a head coach job, it would have to be a top 10 job. Why take on that stress when he can make 7 figures with an easy going boss like Sam. These coordinator jobs pay really well without all the stress and BS that comes with a Head coach job.

They also bus to Arlington every year for the three-game showcase series.

Quote from: hawganatic on Today at 09:55:14 amLOL.  This mindset right here is the reason why we are where we are with the football program.

LOL.  Its significantly easier to demonstrate a history than it is to sell a promise.

LOL.  The epitome of stupid is not understanding this.

It is just dumb for you to think folks are going to give to the program led by Pittman just the same as they would if the program was being led by Saban.  It will never happen.  Common sense.

Additionally, you think Saban wouldn't come here because he sees we aren't pouring millions and millions to try to keep Pittman at .500 if our big donors came to him with an offer to fund $10 million/year in NIL, similar to what happened with the basketball program?  Give me a break.

Maddie Scherr's scheduled visit to Iowa has reportedly been canceled

by: Phoenix Stevens

QuoteIt wasn't too long ago when we learned that Maddie Scherr would be taking a visit to Iowa to potentially become Caitlin Clark's replacement.

However, on Wednesday night, the Hawkeyes picked up a big commitment from Villanova transfer guard Lucy Olsen. Olsen averaged 23.3 points per game last season, which was third in the nation behind Clark (31.6 PPG) and USC's JuJu Watkins (27.1).

When Iowa received the commitment from Olsen, that meant that she would be taking up Iowa's last available scholarship. Ultimately, head coach Lisa Bluder and her staff prioritized getting Olsen, and they got her. However, with no scholarships available, that meant that Scherr was sort of stuck.

"Skim Milkey" reported that Scherr's visit to Iowa which was previously scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

5-foot-11 guard won't be a Hawkeye.

It's been a rough two seasons for Scherr in Lexington thus far, as the 'Cats have won just 24 total games in her two years here.

Quote from: Ghost Writer in the Sty on Today at 09:53:04 amDo they FLY or BUS to far away games like Carolina ?

fly to pretty much every road game but they usually do one bus trip (depending on the schedule) to Ole Miss or State and they play a midweek in LR along the way.

Quote from: 007 License To Squeal on Today at 09:44:03 amPerhaps you want to do some research.  It's reported in multiple places.
I've seen articles about Jerry Jones being key to the hire. I've yet to see something along lines of, "Jerry Jones has promised a massive NIL investment." Feel free to prove me wrong, the news would make me happy.
