Now take the above data and look below at what he has been able to do with lesser talent when it comes to player development based on the NFL draft.

Bielema had 30 players drafted while he was HC at Wisconsin (counting the 5 Wisky guys this year)

According to the scout rankings

1 5*
3 4*
11 3*
9 2* (one being 1st rounder and Def POY Watt who transferred in as a walk on TE, Russell Wilson and 1st rounder Frederick)
6 NO stars (including 3rd overall pick and All Pro Joe Thomas and 4 former Walkons)

Average scout star rankings of his 30 NFL draft picks- 2.27

Average pick for his 25 NFL draft picks- 108

The past 4 drafts he has had 7 OL picked- 3 1st rounders, 2 2nd, 1 3rd, 1 5th and a 7th.  Those guys were: 4 3*'s, 2 2*'s and NO Star Walk on TE. Basically if you start at OL for CBB the past 3 years, you will be drafted.

Since coming to Ark he has been able to sign better players (in terms of rankings as well as offers from other major programs).  Imagine what he is going to be able to do as he continues to stockpile players that have both a higher floor...and a higher ceiling

This really is indicative of how well CBB can turn lower rated kids into big time players.

Beautiful work Jack.

Is there any doubt that redshirting, then developing talent work very well?  I think not.

This is how you do it when you use our style of play.

It also complements a rock solid D, which is what wins championships.

He definitely has done more with less.  I can't wait to see if he can do even more with more.

I started to read all of this and my mind started making modem sounds. Had to stop. Well done but way too much information.

Bottom Line - CBB is the right man in the right place.  Gotcha.
To add a "sig line" or "signature line": Go to your "profile" then go to "modify profile" then scroll down to where it says "Signature" and type in what you want it to say and then click on "change profile". That's it, you're done. Your sig line will only show up on your first post on each page.

Great post and commentary.

I can't wait to see where this takes us in a few years.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. We will finally, truly, be able to say..."next".
