Gosh, look at that Defensive line depth. 11 DE's for two spots and 8 DT's for two spots.

Gosh, look at that Defensive line depth.
We are going to need like 3 DL coaches to coach the sheer number in that group.

greenie

Thank you , sir.

So, are Reid Miller and potentially Pettway our only pickups for safety?

Compared to only 13 OL.

Definitely should see it balance out over the next two classes.

I'd be surprised and admittedly disappointed if we don't land Scott. There's a chance we could get the Nebraska kid as well. Otherwise, we are only looking at Coley and Lidell in 2016.

Very nice post.

We have good numbers.

I actually wish we had one or two more O Linemen. I wonder if any TE will be asked to convert.

Reid Miller as well! Very anxious to see him play.

Looks like we will have Sykes at safety, Reid Miller as a very good walkon, but Tyler Phillips I think will be at OLB.

Updated to show Reed.

1 spot left....

With 24 recruits signed for the 2015 Class (Brandon Scott chose UCF), if you were to take the highest ranking for each player from the four best known recruiting websites (ESPN, Rivals, Scout, and 247Sports), half of this class has a 4* ranking, and the other half are 3*.
THAT is pretty damn good!  ;D

So that averages out to 3.5*/recruit.  How long has it been since we've done that?

Does Scotty Thurman jr have a scholarship?

I think Ledbetter is a DT rather than a DE. We're going to need help at DT; hopefully Ledbetter will help.

Does anyone know how all the walk-ons with the team fit on this list? I would think some of them might provide some depth when needed.

We only have 13 seniors on scholarship?

It's a scholarship only list.

Yes. I understand that. I just thought it would be interesting, given their quality, to see where our walk-ons fill some of the holes at the thinner positions.

welchog

Based on what depth we have, I would say we should only have to play 7 of the newbies and 2 of those are Jrs.

WR - 1 (Reed)
OL - 1
DL - 1 (Ledbetter)
S/DB/LB - 3
P - 1

Rest get RSed

QB - 1
RB - 1
TE - 3
WR - 1
OL - 3
DL - 4
S/DB/LB - 4

Being able to RS like that is what makes sustained depth possible.  And sustained depth is what builds seasonal performance consistency.

If it's a scholarship only does that mean Scottie Thurman JR. is on scholarship??

Minimum one of the TE's will have to play, probably two.

Pig In The City

We are crazy thin at LB. Wonder if we have any current ends that could move to LB.

It's up to you but the staff said they would start Greenlaw out at safety.  If they feel like he would be better at linebacker or feel they are too thin at linebacker, then they would move him down to linebacker.
