If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I think it is great for him to get some pub and all and hope he does well in the future. BUT do you honestly think even if ASU went undefeated he would get an invite over the top P5 players? I doubt it.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

Are you kidding, their faithful was ready to run him out of town when he tweeted something favorable about the Hogs win in the Texas Bowl, lol....

Beat USC, Missouri, and then curbstomp everyone else?  Yeah.

Ain't gonna happen, but if it were, he would get some looks.

I'm not saying he isn't a very good player but NO he wouldn't.

Given that 4 non P-5 guys have been Heisman finalists in the last 11 years, yes.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

What do you consider finalist? Were they invited to attend the ceremony? Top three or five or ten, etc. I'd bet none of those were Sun Belt though, am I right? I'm thinking the one that is most like that was Steve McNair from Alcorn State a SWAC team. That was a long time ago and only one from that level I can think of. I consider the MWC, MAC, WAC, CUSA and the old Big East to be a step up from the Sun Belt and I'd bet most do as well and I'd bet that's where all those you mentioned probably have come from. IF you do indeed mean the top 10 for the last 11 years that is 110 guys. You said there were ONLY four. Chances are a Sun Belt player will not be considered. That's not to say I don't hope for the best for him because I do. Maybe he would get top ten consideration but it would be very unlikely.

I do agree it with be very difficult for a player from the G5 to even be in the mix going forward.

As far as where the SBC ranks, no doubt by any measurable they fall behind the other G5's as a conference, but are closing the gap every year. The AAC is considered the best G5 Conference.

As far as football it will probably be a year to year deal. IMO opinion they probably brought  up the rear.

The year before they were officially the best of the 4 non-aq's (MAC, CUSA, MWC, SBC, the AAC was an aq), and got the BCS $ to prove it. The year before they they finished 2nd, so have to see this year.

Do expect their best teams to be among the best in G5, and that is all that will matter to your team, because at the G5 level it will almost certainly be more about how good your team is, not how good your conference is (the MWC may never be the best G5 in football, but look for Boise to be considered for the best G5 team most years).

Because of the hype associated with the playoff, and the fact that a G5 is guaranteed a spot in a major bowl game people will know who the better teams in each of the G5's are because they are going to be in the mix that bowl game, but may not know are care about which G5 conference they are in. Because the competition for the game is between the conference champions, by default each conference is going to be included in the hype.

Like I have said the best is yet to come for  A-State, and the fact the 5 G5 Conference Champions are going to be in the mix for a major bowl every year is one of the tangible reasons why. Look for A-State to be in the mix most years, and that is how G5's will build a national brand.

If fact A-State has already made a nice name for itself outside the state, which is why their out of state recruiting is going so well , which is why they are winning. Gong to get even better.

Top 5 only-- and had to be invited to the NY TD Club for the final vote revelation.
