We will be doing good to get 40,000.  We just wont pack the house because our University is all the way at the edge of NW Arkansas.

Isn't Lincoln on the far eastern edge of Nebraska?

UHHHH, The University of Nebraska is in Lincoln.  Lincoln has a population of over 240K, and is in the SE part of the state.

Be nice to children, Hogsanity :)
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

By the way Nebraksa is 0-2 in bowl games vs SEC this century, lost to Ole PIss, LMFAO

And what happens when they play for the Title?  They get dominated because they ease through their conference because their conference usually sucks.  Why does the SEC lead in NFL players and draft picks, EVERY YEAR

They win it, with reasonable frequency.

The SEC doesn't lead in NFL draft picks and players every year, btw.     It varies from season to season, with the Big XII also having it's share of success too, albeit less than the SEC.

The Hogs lost to UNLV, so whats your point?  Does that mean the WAC, or Mt WESt, or whatever weaksister league UNLV was in is better than the SEC?
People ask me what I do in winter when there is no baseball.  I will tell you what I do. I stare out the window, and I wait for spring.

The wrench into the situation is that while they did have Callahan we had NUTT.  That is worth about 50 losses right there.  Because of Nutt we lost the NUMBER 1 recruit in the country.  That is worth another 50 losses.  Nebraska while they may have 8 less wins over the last 8 seasons are still ahead of the Hogs.  Just not the same.

See that is what is wrong with college football.  Notre Dame gets pumped every year and they suck.  Just because they were good back in the day when they had RB's running 5 flat 40's, nobody cares

Oh but at least 80,000 people care enough about what Nebraska is doing to pay a lot of money to watch a scrimmage game.  When you get to that level then you have arrived.

Yeah.  That horrible Nebraska white-boy national title winner Tommy Fraizer and the rest of his KKK crowd have been running off 'black folk' from Nebraska football for decades.

Not a matter of how good you, I, or anyone else thinks he is he was rated as the NUMBER 1 player in the country.  I honestly have not  seen enough of him over a long enough term to make determination on that.  Can you tell me who in that class should have been rated ahead of him?

Nah.  Remember, Nebraskan whiteys hate black people.  Dan Devine and Tom Osborn, after all, hate black people, and Nebraska  barely integrated football 75 years before Arkansas.

Nebraska has won more games percentage wise than any team since 1960. Until a few years ago, Nebraska had 33 9-win seasons in a row!

YOu guys dont get it.  Notre Dame and Nebraska will never be the dominant teams they once were.  Why?  Several reasons.  They along with Penn St. used to be some of the few schools on TV every week.  Now they all are.  Another reason weather and facilities.  And the majority of good black athletes are on the west coast and the south.  Teams of the future are LSU, Florida, USC, TExas

I am not discounting your points about Penn St and Neb declining.  Neb began to faulter when their ability to bring in 3 dozen potential O linemen on Agricultural Scholarships, let them walkon, work out, and practice for 2 or 3 years, then put them on Fb scholarship, was taken away.  However, you can not seriously say that Neb was never anything.

Hammer met nail....you are correct sir....Once the fiasco of "county scholarship walkon program" was made illegal, along with Bad Coaching, an obsolete offense, and not being able to $$$$cherrypick$$$$ a handfull of african american skill players from the slums of New Jersey, Nebraska's program has settled in where they more likely belong. Devaney and Osborne were Top Notch HC's...but the Big XII ended the OU and Neb and the 6 dwarfs (Big8) advantage in much the same way the UA & UT vs the rest of the SWC formula that was prevalent through much of the 60's & 70's....

getting 80K+ is a HUGE DEAL for a spriing game....kudo's to the husker fans...Having Omaha close to Lincoln in the same way that Norman is practically a suburb of OKC makes it much easier to draw fans...It is what it is...if Fayetteville was geographically located where Conway is or LR metro was halfway between Fort Smith and Fayetteville we would draw 80K just as easily....

289 consecutive home sellouts (and counting)
currently the stadium holds 81,067

Fisticuffs

No question, Nebraska is elite. Our history simply does not compare. There is nothing wrong with their facilities. They have a beautiful stadium. The most loyal fans in the Big XII. Speaking of the Big XII, its easy for us to soak up the SEC today and take pride in competing in the best conference in the nation but to use the SEC as an excuse for our mediocrity is ludacris. In the 90s the SEC was not the best conference and that's for damn sure. Big XII, Big Ten, ACC... they all competed on the same level as the SEC. And where were we? Soaking up mediocrity in the SEC. Where was Nebraska, winning titles.
