Except for the part he doesn't address his original statement.  It's just a windy synopsis on why we need a good coach and freedom of thought.  Not sure anyone thinks differently there.

Let's hear why his statement about JL not getting Gruden would be not "be pretty".  Especially when there is no proof of it even being possible.

I addressed that in detail. Read it or don't read it. I know that you personally don't want OR cannot embrace Gruden and that is fine. But who would be more of a big time hire and do more for us on a national scale than Gruden? Paul Petrino? Horton? If not Gruden, then there needs to be another big time hire that creates the same excitement. I mean come on man, you are not an un-informed poster. You have been around long enough to know the truth.

Sure have.  That truth is your statement that (paraphrasing) JL not hiring Gruden will bite him in the butt.  Especially when it's not even proven he's available and hireable for any coaching job.   Even if you are on the money with Gruden, your statement is still theatrical and inflammatory.

No one individual is that important to any scenario.  I'm not big on "has to be" a certain person.  That line is to divisive and sets up conflict that is unnecessary.

Wannstedt is not my top choice, but the fact that he was 15-6 in conference over his final 3 years renders that caption incorrect. He was fired because the new AD wanted to go a different direction.

I agree...personally, I think he's a great coach!  For some reason, though, lots of people don't like him at all.  Maybe it's his out-of-work-porn-star mustache.

I would like to see a head coach who is passionate about football, personal, and friendly towards fans, a great recruiter who can get great players to come here, and a coach who likes both defense, and offense, a well balanced coach, and who can relate to players....Go Hogs Go...............

I can go with everyone you have on that list as permanent HC where you have them except Phil Fulmer. However the Hire needs to be made NOW and not after the 2012 season. A figurehead hire for the 2012 season is a stupid, stupid idea.

If long doesn't make a killer hire and the Hogs turn south, you're deluding yourself if you don't think a pretty big chunk of the fan base will put some stink on Long. I asked a simple question and you took it to this point.   You make several more assumptions in this post.   As you have already stated, it's an opinion board as well as fact sharing forum.  This would have ended easily if you had wanted it too.

You've spent more effort poking back at me personally with your guesswork than you have explaining the original statement that I asked.  This seems to indicate that it's you that needs to follow your own advice stated above.

You have enough trouble with your own expressions.  I wouldn't worry about analyzing those of others.  Especially me.
