Assuming we're taking one. Who you got?

1.  Logan Byrd
2.  Cole Kelley
3.  Skylar Thompson
4.  Kasey Ford

Virgil

I don't think they offer Ford.  jmo

I like Byrd.  I think he'd be a good pick up.
It's not what you push but what pushes you!!

Dominicanhog

I like Byrd as well.. I've asked before if we might take 2.... especially if the coaches think AA and/or RP are not the answer long term....

I think if you take one quality QB every year you should stay in pretty good shape.  Obviously things can change that but I do not see them taking more than one QB this year.

I don't think they will either. Plus, I believe he signed to play baseball at Kansas State.

jgphillips3

Pretty much everyone figures Ford will stick with baseball at K State.  Byrd is my favorite of that lot.

Tusks

Is Ford good enough to play baseball for the hogs?
sometimes it's a good and some times it's a schit

HOGINTENNESSEE

IMO our board is like this below.

Kelley
Byrd
Griffin
Thompson

Kelley has the best arm IMO

jackflash

wonder why Ford has not been offered by Van Horn?

Mobility should have value in a college qb.
Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

Byrd and Kelly seems to be close to the around the same caliber as Ty and Rafe. I would be happy with either.

Isn't Fayetteville's qb getting pretty good? Is he 2017 or 2018?

Tusks

but very few players get a full ride in college baseball.  you have to stack in academic scholarships and everything else.

the college baseball scolly rule is the only time you actually have to use algebra in life.

by the time he gets all his money worked out to play at kstate, he still has out of state tuition to deal with, even if he walks on for the hogs baseball, he still could be paying less out of pocket than getting scolly money up there.

you know if he makes the roster, which he probably would, then DVH can throw some money his way.

my son is a HS baseball player and is being looked at and the more I find out the more I realize that the vast majority of college baseball players and their families are paying their own way through school.

He's been offered. Doesn't want to play football in college at this point. Taking baseball route. Potential draft pick as well.

I am told down here that Kelley has Mallett's arm and a little more athletic. Not fast by any means, but can move when he needs to. Standout athlete in football, basketball, and baseball.

Yeah I'm a little disappointed with this.

Ford has the biggest cannon on the list IMHO.  He will try out baseball and I doubt is parents care what it will cost them to send him to K State.  I wish the kid luck, but I'm really disappointed.

I'm not sure how much energy this staff is going to put in to QB recruiting this year.

They put in alot this past month, but many of them committed elsewhere. Takes some wind out of the sails I bet.

I think they'll throw some offers out and gauge the interest but we're in incredibly good shape at QB. If a quality QB wants on board, we'll take him and I know anything can happen, injuries, transfers, etc., but I see the coaching staff putting the majority of their time recruiting other positions.

COCHISE

And as far as kids we offer committing elsewhere, that's probably going to be a pattern that continues. Any QB recruit that looks at our current QB situation isn't going to be too eager to commit seeing 3 of top QB commits in the nation coming out of HS backing BA up. It's a good problem to have.

He is a great high school QB but I dont think D1.  He is about 6-0 not 6-2 like Davenport reports.  He also has short legs and small hands.  Doesnt look like much growth potential even though his dad is about 6-2

We will recruit a QB every year. I can only remember 1 year where we didn't sign a QB. 1 guy transfers and then that forced us in to having Derby play QB. Doubt we want to get in that situation again.
