It was the first flyover before and Arkansas game in at least 4 seasons. What did you think?

We were given an exclusive invitation to ride along with the Blackhawks during their flyover practice Thursday, so you can check that out as well.

Technically speaking, yes they are. However, technically speaking, NFL players doing a play 60 with elementary kids are getting a getting a workout as well. Not going to pretend like there isn't any benefit to the flyover. The timing it takes to hit it just right requires a lot of skill. However, I'm also not going to pretend like that is the absolute best way to get that training either. However, that other training doesn't get the same publicity, PR, demand for funding from the public, or recruit as well as flyover type events do.

It IS good training and who cares if it is the "absolute best way" as long as the American taxpayer gets an opportunity to see it?  In the Navy I used to watch our flag fly over our ship and wish that every taxpayer could see their flag, ship, and crew at work overseas.  That's not possible, but flyovers are and should be used as often as Americans want to see them if it's beneficial training for the unit.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

They are scheduled training exercises.

Yep.  It teaches the pilots how to do better flyovers.
