Contract details for new LSU staffers, including OC Steve Ensminger released

LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda was made the highest-paid assistant coach in the country following the 2017 season. As the Tigers' new offensive coordinator, Steve Ensminger will make much less than Aranda.

Ensminger will make $800,000 over a two-year contract... That is a $400,000 raise from what he made as tight ends coach but also almost half of what Matt Canada, LSU's offensive coordinator last year, made in 2017. Canada and LSU parted ways following the 2017 season and he has since landed at Maryland as the offensive coordinator. Canada made $1.5 million last year.

James Cregg, LSU's new offensive line coach, will make $475,000 and is also on a two-year deal. Special teams coach Greg McMahon will make $375,000 and passing game coordinator Jerry Sullivan will make $400,000. Sullivan is on a one-year deal.

Aranda's new deal will pay him $2.5 million. As head coach, Ed Orgeron will make $3.5 million in 2017. ... Aranda's new contract allows him to leave LSU for any NFL job and owe the school nothing.
