Les Miles has been sipping martinis and eating grass just waiting on the call from long

Stop this. NO NO NO we are not goign after Les Miles

You  have to be either stupid or a troll to want Less

Reminds me of Nutt to Ole Miss.

Les won a Natty and the last time we even got close I was in Middle school.

At this point, I'd plant some of the best Bermuda to munch on and let him come.

Calling All Hogs

The sad thing is Long would probably think Les was a great hire.

THIS!  ALL DAY... THIS!!!

Why would we want someone who intentionally mispronounced our state repeatedly?  Our desire to bring him in just messes me up...

He couldn't win big enough with LSU's vast resources, so how would he win here?

This is a do more with less job not a do more with Les job.    LSU is a do less with more or more with more job.

With due respect of course, if those two were the only options I would take Leslie.  At least he is much more respected as a recruiter.

Your senior year?

We don't need that guy!!! Period!!

gchamblee

Im not ready for that type of punishment. We would never develop a quarterback and we would be a 6-6 team at best considering the talent difference between Arkansas and LSU. If you struggle at LSU you would fail most everywhere else.

Assuming Leslie gets better talent due to his recruiting, I believe CBB is 2-2 against Leslie and his superior talent...

He was paying kids while sitting in the middle of one of the top 5 recruiting hot beds.  I doubt he could even recruit to what CBB had done here.

niels_boar

Only if we hire Saban first to get the ball rolling here...

He couldn't put a decent offensive team on the field with Fournette and LSU talent on the lines.  He won't have the same talent on defense at Arkansas.
The jawbone of an ass is just as dangerous a weapon today as in Sampson's time.

If Long makes the hire, your next coach will be Gus or Les Miles.  Don't expect him to take anything but the easy way out.

Why not....he could clean this mess up.  The recruiting is a issue.  Too many whiffs.  Like Ruscin was saying this morning.."there are no real up in comers on the sideline...the best we got is on the field."  If nothing else Les would get us some talent.

Good point. . .

Miles is miles better than what we got now, but he would need good assistants to raise us to where we would actually win an average of 8 per season.  I do believe the 8 would be his ceiling on average, but that would be a real upgrade.  Les Miles did well when handed a throw down location for recruits.  With us not so much.

hawgon

Les was about a seven win coach at Oklahoma State.

bhogs05

No way would I want Les Miles to be head coach..yes he had a great record at LSU but that is with the loaded recruiting of Louisiana. Go look at LSU's roster and over 60 guys are from the state of Louisiana.  He is a terrible clock manager and is one of reasons we were able to win as many games as we have against LSU.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the ESPN rumors of our grand AD offering les miles 5 million/year to come here were true. They both seem to be of similar cultures region wise.

Also wouldn't surprise me if he would've done a worse job than Bret Bielema had he decided to take the offer.
Thanks for the F Shack.

I'm a Redskins fan who gritted my teeth and stuck with my team through the Spurrier years, but I'll be darned if I would stick with the Hogs if Miles becomes the head coach. And I've been a Razorback fan since the late '50s.

Miles is not a good enough coach to win at Arkansas. Also, I associate him with LSU and always will. Hard pass.

he's not my first, second, or third choice but i doubt he could do a worse job

Why the fascination with an old coach who only won with Saban's players?

One of if not the dumbest coaching suggestions ever on here.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

How so?  The only way Les was deemed a better recruiter is because Louisiana is one of the best States to recruit from and most of the young men from there dream of playing for LSU, so when they get and offer to play there they go.  I think Saban made a mistake leaving LSU myself, but he wanted to try the NFL.   If he would have stayed at LSU with just in State talent I think he would have more titles than he has at Alabama IMO.

Gus isn't coming here unless he gets fired from Auburn for doing a bad job there, which they believe he is.  Gus would be a 7-8 games max wins coach here.

GunnerHawg70

Ahhhhh what would the Hogs look like as the Mad Hatter as Head Hog....TERRIBLE!!!  I'd rather stick with CBB running the program instead of the dysfunctional "Hand Clapping" on the sideline...Can you imagine "Whoa Hogs, Whoa Hogs" as he's holding them back at the Hog Pen before running in to the A?!?! LOL!!! I'm good buddies...Nice one tho!!!  ;)

If you want Les Miles as Head Hog just watch this and let me know if you're still onboard... :D

LSU always under achieved so other than Saban they only won 2 in the past 20 years. We are worse we won one in the past 52 years.

I didn't even think of him as an option until this thread.  Seriously, never entered my mind.  But...the fact that there were rumors that Long at least flirted with Les coming here enough for him to milk a raise out of it does scare the bejesus out of me.

What could he possibly bring to the table?  Here's what I recall about CBB coming.  "We can't out Bama and LSU at their game."  What in the heck do people think Les could do other than exactly what he tried to do at LSU?

Has there ever been a coach worse at recognizing and developing QB talent?  Can you IMAGINE an Arkansas team with a below average QB every season?  Oh man...that doesn't add up to anything but butt ugly.
I've never wanted a Hog coach to be successful more than I do for Pittman.  He's one of the good guys.
