Is Derby out for sure?  Who else is done for the year?  If so, Derby could have been a horn killer!

Think Derby has a chance to play, no?

Pulled(PP)pork

never heard/read what his injury was

He had knee surgery. Arthroscopic I presume.

Pulled(PP)pork

well, if it was just a meniscus tear, then he could possibly return.  if a ligament, not likely I would think

HE had a knee procedure, BB said in the PC before the Mizzou game that he would be back at bowl practice, but they were not going to push it trying to get him ready for a bowl. My guess is if he is pain free and has no swelling, he will see a little action, but with the sr bowl ( or east west game not sure which ) he is in, and with the nfl combine coming up, they are not going to jeopardize that to get a few snaps in a bowl game.
People ask me what I do in winter when there is no baseball.  I will tell you what I do. I stare out the window, and I wait for spring.

Several days ago in the ArDemGaz it was mentioned that he seems to be progressing well from the procedure. At the time of the article it indicated while he would not be rushed back into practice immediately that the staff is hopeful that he will continue to heal adequately enough to practice and play in the bowl game. Obviously at this point it continues to be a "wait and see".

As much as a grinder as Derby seems to be, I imagine he'll be out there.  Recovery time from his procedure is usually 2-3 weeks, which is still plenty of time for him to be prepared and healthy for the game.

And he needs the exposure if he wants to elevate his NFL chances.

On the other hand, he doesn't need to rush back and risk a more severe injury and kill any chance at the NFL.

I seem to remember CBB specifically stating that he would be back for the bowl preparations, but I'm not 100% sure on that.  It was when he was asked before the Mizzou game, and there was another injured player discussed in the same boat.  Can't remember specifics.

Even if he can't go in the bowl game, he'll get the exposure he needs in the SR Bowl and that exposure is more valuable than the Texas Bowl.
Have you ever listened to someone  or read what they put into thoughts and wondered...."who ties your shoelaces for you?"

If he is able you would think he would like to do both. Two chances to impress is twice as good as one right? (I can't math.)

Seriously though if he is at all questionable he probably should sit. Being 100% healthy and ready to perform for the combine is probably the most important thing for his NFL chances. I am assuming he will even be invited to the combine though, he may need to show a little shine in one of these games to lock that up. I don't know.
If Auburn is dirty so is Gus. You can't have it both ways. Deal with it.
