Not surprised at all. Frank played a lot this year for a true freshmen. and when he played, he played well. he and Brain Wallace are going to be special players before they leave here.

Great recruiting material. Come to Arkansas where even if you don't start much you can still be an All-American. :)

Excellent recruiting material. Just get in the 2 deep and you can be an All-American.
He's going to be a part of an outstanding OL for '15.

You Will Be Hard Pressed To Find A True Freshman Starting At Center.

It is very rare for a true freshman to be able to handle starting at center.

If I recall correctly both Luigs and Swanson started as Freshmen for us.

True freshmen?  I thought they were redshirts.

That's what I thought.

When you look at having to not only be physically developed enough to start but also having to know the line calls + make a good snap + make your block it is tough for a 1st year player.

Most need at least a year to adjust to everything going on + the speed of the game.

Plus I don't think he played center before this year!  Makes this even more impressive.

Yeah, you don't recall correctly...

This is very good news. On this flip side, though, I seem to recall Will Hines was a Freshman All-American.  Hoping for better news with Ragnow going forward.

I look forward to seeing Frank's improvement in strength and quickness during the off season....

Bama had one when we played them.

Bailey and Swanson were both freshman starters at the same time, but Bailey was a true freshman at guard and Swanson was a RS freshman at C. Still surprised that Bailey both left early and wasn't drafted, though can't complain about his NFL career so far.

Bailey was redshirt Freshman just like Swanson. During is redshirt year he was the 2nd team RG and traveled just like Brian Wallace did this year.

Do you happen to have any rapping skills? I think we could set you up with DJ Khaled and you could make a song entitled, "All I Do Is Bitch"

Guys just face it.....its very rare for a True Freshman to start and/or play at center.

It is an extremely tough position to compete at with 0 experience at that level or in that offense.

The fact that Ragnow is getting playing time is a great sign.

Yep, you are right. I could have sworn he was a true freshman, but he did in fact RS.

True freshmen don't start on any offensive line that's worth a damn.

Our O-Line is going to be better next year than it was this year and maybe by quite a bit.  The upgrade at center is going to be huge for us.  By that I mean Ragnow will have a full year with an offseason in our strength and conditioning program and we will be much better at center for it.   The fact that we were able to redshirt Wallace is gold!  He is an amazing athlete by all accounts and just like Ragnow, having that year in Herbert's program is huge.   We should be STOUT on the O-line in 2015!  IMO we were a little overrated this year but should be legit next year.
