Interesting when you look at each matchup: http://greatamericansportsnetwork.com/sec-bowl-bonanza/ I mean, obviously we are going to steamroll Texas but teams like UT and UT are going to have to step up this bowl season.

Should be some good games.  I doubt the SEC runs the table though.

Bowl season inevitably has teams regretting or uninterested in where they are playing.

The SEC is likely to lose a couple, on that basis alone.  I can't imagine Les Miles sold a lot of LSU's top recruits on the idea of playing in Nashville with a Music City Bowl Championship on the line, in December.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

jmb1973

No. I have serious doubts about Ole Miss being able to handle TCU.

Yeah and it will be cold as well. Last time they played in cold weather they were shut out.

TCU is going to manhandle Ole Miss. I will be surprised if it is within 2TD's. TCU is going to be looking to prove their worth. The SEC and Ole Miss will is that opportunity.

Yeah, this is the way I see it as well.. I'd like to see Old Mrs tie their a$$ in a knot.... it would really make the SEC look good and put Big 12-2+1 in their place.

threeNout

a good sub question here would be will the SEC West run the table?

Already notable for every West team going bowling, every West team winning in the post season would be nice.

8 Post season games by SEC West teams assuming Bama wins the play-off.

Hogarusa

No.  Some may not want to hear this but when the Hogs are in the mix, running of the bowl is not to be expected based off of our bowl history.  See Big 10, see Ohio State, see BCS.

I fully expect the east to struggle.  They suck

if you think they can, you could win a lot of vegas if you parlay it.   just sayin.   but it's not gonna happen.

AR beats TX
AM beats WV
MO beats MN
AL beats tOSU
TN beats Iowa
AU beats Wis

GT beats MSU
LV beats GA
ND beats LSU
TCU beats OM
MIA beats SC
ECU beats FL

After seeing this slate of games laid out like this, these are really some good - even intriguing - matchups.  I certainly don't see any blowouts in the bunch, with all of them likely being competitive.  My hardest call was actually Auburn-Wisconsin.

bennyl08

MIA vs SC: Toss up, should be a good game
aTm vs WV: Aggies, should win the game if they are confident, only way I see them losing is if disappointed
ARK vs TEX: Hogs, horns will play it closer than some think, but the score will be closer than the game
LSU vs ND: LSU, if LSU doesn't really show up, it'll be a close game, should still win
UGA vs LOU: Toss up, UGA should win this game handily based on talent, but they are incredibly inconsistent
OM vs TCU: TCU, big time, TCU is a better team than Ole Miss
MSU vs GT: MSU, MSU could be disappointed to not be in the playoffs, but Mullen will have them fighting and win
AUB vs WIS: AUB, Gordon will keep Wisc. in this, but coaching will hurt the badgers
MIZZ vs MINN: Toss up, Tigers should win based on talent, but they lost to Indiana, so...
BAMA vs tOSU: tide, Ohio St. will play this closer than some here think, Meyer is one of the best in the country
TENN vs IOWA: Tenn, Tenn has a lot of young talent
UF vs ECU: Toss up, honestly ECU is probably the better coached team, but UF still has physical talent

I say 9-3 plus/minus 2

Anything goes in Bowl season. South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Florida seem to be playing better opponents. And then of course, Alabama has two post-season games if they beat Ohio State.

13-0 would be unheard of. Could you imagine the anti-SEC crowd's excuses?

If memory serves, the SEC was 7-3 last year. That is a great bowl record.
An above 50% conference win total is the goal.
Most likely will end up in the 6-7 to 8-4 range.
Most likely to lose would be USC, TN, OleMiss, Aggies, UF.
Good is the enemy of great

welchog

I say we worry about our own house.  As already stated,  we have a pretty bad record in that department.

LRRandy

I think 11-1 is possible. Alabama will probably lose.
This is fun, isn't it.

DoctorSusscrofa

Don't be ridiculous. To run the table with this many games would be nearly impossible. At least 2 and maybe even 3 or 4 will lose. Every bowl team is decent. Every bowl team has time to prepare. Every bowl team will have healed up from the season. Somebody will get an upset win.

Favored in all 12, I do believe, but motivation and coaching staff changes are always key in these bowl games. Will Florida, South Carolina, TAMU, AU, and Mizzou be motivated (loser of SECCG loses often in bowl game). I wil say 9-4, Bama steam rolls OSU, and wins a war with Jamies Winston and crew.

Will, no.
This!  Will get absolute best shot from every opponent.  Someone will not win

Vantage 8 dude

I seriously doubt the SEC will sweep this year. In fact, it's extremely difficult with that many team involved in games for a conference to run the table.

jabohog

I don't know what it is that makes many think we are going to steamroll Texas? We shutout two down SEC teams at home, then go on the road and lose the same way we have all year long. If this game is close going into the 4th quarter, look out. I give us a slight edge at QB in personel, but Texas has better overall talent and depth.

THIS.. I really worry about OM, UF and us... Maybe just because of our previous bowl record and that of CBB too...

I like Ole Miss' chances against TCU.  The Horned Frogs defense has a tendency to spit up too many points, and I don't think TCU will find the offensive going as easy against the Rebel defense as it did against pretty terrible Big XII squads.  Add in the potential for TCU to see the match as a consolation game, and Ole Miss making its first BCS-level bowl, and I like the intangibles.

Gonna be a great game.

I don't think the SEC runs the table, just because it's hard to get 12 wins against good teams.

Miami beats South Carolina
West Virginia beats Texas A&M
Arkansas beats Texas
LSU beats Notre Dame
Georgia beats Louisville
Ole Miss beats TCU
Mississippi State beats GT
Auburn beats Wisconsin
Minnesota beats Missouri
Alabama beats Ohio State
Tennessee beats Iowa
Florida beats East Carolina
Alabama beats Oregon, wins National Championship

SEC goes 10-3 in bowl matchups.  Another solid postseason performance.

Unless LSU finds some offense real quick I'd pick Notre Dame.....and I HATE Notre Dame.

I wouldn't count any "steamrolls" before we get them. We've had plenty of disappointing bowl games in the past. It does give us a great opportunity to confirm the depth of our conference if we did win convincingly though.

I think LSU will just out-athlete a slumping Notre Dame squad.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I think:
TCU beats the mess out of Ole Miss... TCU has to be pissed after the Playoff selection, and will be looking to prove a point. "Bad Bo" will show up for Ole Miss again, and probably run off the field early in a hissy fit.

Notre Dame beats LSU, unless LSU can get some kind of offense together.

ECU beats Florida. Too much change at Florida right now.

We may go 9-3 total.  I'm on the fence for Mizzou - Minn.  Missouri is so inconsistent it's hard to judge that game. Mizzou should win, but who knows

South Carolina obviously doesn't want to be in Shreveport and will probably get beat. The others I think we have a good shot.

Absolutely not.  The East teams will all fail...

The west? Maybe... The east, no way. But even the west has a couple matchups that could go bad... TCU and WVU come to mind.

Well what balances that thought is ND has Golson and he's a guaranteed 3 turnover type of QB
