Why Firing Won't Happen Until Season's End

The Kansas job would be a good fit for JL. Very low expectations for football, so winning 4-5 games would be fine compared to what they have done since Mangino left.

Not to mention, basketball is already in great shape, as long as JL keeps Self happy. Bert knows the lay of the land there, so either KU or KSU would be good for him if Snyder was to retire.

As for an in season firing, what would that accomplish? Even if we get swamped by LSU, this season is a lost one anyway.

Just hang on a couple more weeks and do it then, but make sure some feelers have been sent out thru back channels to potential replacements.

Any coach, say Norvell at Memphis, who is interested will be watching the situation, or at least their agent will.

Tenner seems to think they have a shot at luring Gruden out of the ESPN booth. Let them waste their time.

UF will have their sights set higher, names such as Bob Stoops, Scott Frost and Dan Mullen are being tossed around.

Norvell isn't likely to be snatched up early, but he or others like him could be available at one of the places that loses their current coach, such as Moo U. or C. Fla. if a vacancy occurs at those places.

Norvell played at UCA, his wife is from Fort Smith... doesn't mean we are his dream job, but surely he'd consider us strongly, don't you think?

And when even Clay Henry, the ultimate Homer, writes articles quoting a former player slamming the current state of affairs, something is up if history is any indication.

An Old OL coach who's team couldn't block a hat last season... If things aren't MUCH better this fall,  enjoy Hot Springs Sammy!

There is no reason to fire him before the end of the season. JL will have already hired Norvell, via his agent, and Norvell will finish out the regular season with Memphis.  Norvell will be announced a week after the final game and will apologize to his kids for not being able to coach them in the bowl game and hits the recruiting trail.  Our recruiting class goes from being ranked 70th to the top 30ish and Norvell will sign some kids to fill some of the holes we have. Next year we will start off the year with a renewed energy and excitement for razorback football. Wps

With the numbers dictating this class be a small one, a new coach will not have the ability to do a lot of recruiting. The low recruiting ranking can be attributed as much to the available number of scholarships as it is with the players being recruited. The only way they can get more numbers is to kick a lot of players out of the program or have a mass exodus of transfers.
My ole buddy Biscuit has crossed that rainbow bridge. Life sure is different without him around.

It'd be like the Bad News Bears winning the World Series.   Ain't happening.

I think has much more to do with the money that can be saved after 1 Jan.
