Vanderbilt loses commit Tyree Thompson to Chip Kelly, UCLA

JUCO linebacker Tyree Thompson flipped his commitment from Vanderbilt to UCLA...

Thompson's defection leaves Vanderbilt with just one unsigned commitment in 3-star cornerback Rayshad Williams. Thompson is out of Van Nuys, Calif.

Prior to Thompson's de-commitment, Vanderbilt had the No. 38 ranked class in the country which leaves them No. 12 in the SEC.

Vanderbilt has only one linebacker in the class in Alston Orji, though Orji is the Commodores' highest rated member of the 2018 class and is a 4-star linebacker.

Vanderbilt flips UConn defensive end commit Lorenza Surgers

Surgers' commitment to the Huskies didn't last long, as he had only been committed to them since Jan. 21.

Surgers, a native of Cary, N.C., is a towering figure at 6-foot-7, 225 pounds. However, he appears to be a late-blossoming recruit as he was not rated.

LB Salua Masina signs with Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt landed an addition to its 2018 recruiting class.

On Saturday linebacker Salua Masina, from Salt Lake City, Utah, signed with the Commodores

Masina is a 3-star prospect and the No. 25 outside linebacker for his class.

Vanderbilt just landed its second commitment of the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The latest Commodore pledge comes from St. Augustine Prep standout Jake Ketschek of Richland, New Jersey. Ketschek commits to Derek Mason's program over offers from Rutgers, Kent State, UMass and Temple.

Vanderbilt football lands third 2021 commitment, jumps Alabama in recruiting rankings

Vanderbilt football's latest Class of 2021 commitment did more than just dedicate his future to the Commodores. Three-star receiver Jack Bech, who committed March 21, helped push Vanderbilt past Alabama in the 2021 recruiting rankings, according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-1, 203-pound receiver from Lafayette, Louisiana has placed the Commodores at 48th in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. Alabama's 2021 class, which includes a single, four-star commitment, ranks 54th.

Gardendale 2021 quarterback Will Crowder commits to West Virginia

Gardendale rising senior quarterback Will Crowder committed to West Virginia early Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-2.5, 195-pound rising senior also had offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Boise State, Campbell, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest among others.

The three-star prospect is currently the No. 18 rising senior prospect in the state

Vanderbilt adds graduate transfer kicker from Ivy League school

ex-Columbia kicker Oren Milstein announced via Twitter that he was committing to Vanderbilt:

Milstein was Columbia's starting kicker in 2016 and 2017, making 20 of his 26 attempts. He does have 3 game-winning kicks.

Ivy League doesn't allow players to play 4 seasons in 5 years. He was injured in 2018, missing the entire season, and didn't see any game action in 2019.

Commodores just picked up a commitment from Atlanta native Alan Wright a day after landing a commitment from Michigan native Ezra McAllister.

6-foot, 185-pound Woodward Academy standout is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 115 safety in the nation and the No. 107 overall prospect from the state of Georgia in the 2021

Wright committed to Vanderbilt over scholarship offers from Arkansas State, ECU, Georgia State and UMass. He is currently the third-highest rated prospect committed to Vanderbilt's 2021 recruiting class.
