You gotta be kidding.  You think we are winning the half court game?

We are *murdering* them in the half court.

In transition, they've outscored us by about 15-- and that number would be closer to 25, if we hadn't had a spate of transition offense efficiency in the last 10 minutes.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Two or three bad possessions doesn't make it a bad strategy.

It got us down 17 also.

Bad transition offense and defense got us down 17.      But, its a convenient bit of revision, to ignore what happened on the court in favor of the nonsense that playing fast helped us today.

The game slowed down and so did our scoring.

That timeout at the three minute mark was excellent

Arkansas +3 on fast break points.

BoarnSupremacy

Should have kept it a half court game.  We were killing them on the glass ;)

This thread was ridiculous.

I understand (and agree with) the idea that our press can quickly backfire against elite teams that can handle the ball.
But, surprisingly,  Carolina was seriously struggling with our pressure defense. We were able to get out in transition off of missed shots and turnovers and get easy/good looks. Of course, most points in basketball are scored while running a set offense so transition wasn't all of it. But to act like our transition game wasn't what made Carolina fans nervous is laughable.

People confuse pressure defense and points off turnovers for speed. We don't play fast like Carolina. Teams like Carolina and Kentucky play a true full court game because they have the athletic ability to do so.

We do want the game chaotic but we don't play fast. Making shots and defending in the half court is our game.

No, ErieHog was ridiculous. When we sped them up and made it a scramble game we gave them puredy hell!

Full court pressing and trapping in the half court are done to speed the game up.

We were down 17 in fast break points before we sped the game up and ended +3.

Doesn't mean this would work against every team though.

Completely agree. Our trapping defense and frenetic pace has lead to easy baskets for teams with superior athletes. Carolina seemed to panic and we were able to get good shots off of misses and turnovers. I feel like we were one turnover away down the stretch from getting the W. We ended up putting Carolina on the FT line too much in the final 3 minutes which eliminated transition opportunities.

ha.. dunno why anyone ever argues with Erie.  the only time he has ever been wrong in his life was that one time when he thought he was wrong, but turns out that was wrong bc he was actually right... and he uses algorithms and metrics to disprove what you just witnessed with your own eyes.

I didn't want to argue w him but they outrebounded us by 15.  In my Opin it would have been worse if we had slowed it down to half court 2nd half.  The only mistakes they made were due to fast pace.  We have no set plays for half court anyway.  I am curious what erie saw that I didnt
