Where is Tennessee's recruiting base?  Tennessee high school football is bad.  It used to be Atlanta but Richt and others have sown it up.  My guess is they will have to recruit Mississippi heavily depending on who replaces Sylvester Croom.

Tennessee has to raid other states; they don't produce and hold the domestic talent necessary to win- they go everywhere from Virginia to California in search of kids, and they have one of the hardest to maintain recruiting models out there.

They are going to RAPE the state of Mississippi along with LSU (Les Miles) each year for their best talent which will leave MSU & Ole Miss fighting for the left-overs.

I am not worried about Kiffin and his recruiting. He won't be able to recruit anything like he did at USC. It's not even close! I don't think Tenn can get away with paying the recruits like they do at USC..I mean between Bush and Leinart what was it like 200 thousand a year? Can Tenn afford that recruiting budget?

Tennessee will be ok...If you read the book called Meat Market(which follows Orgeron's 06-07 recruiting season) and cross-reference rivals.com rankings, you will see that Ole Miss pretty much owned Memphis thanks to Orgeron and assistant coach Hugh Freeze...Now that HDN has taken over at OleMrs. UTenn will easily take it back...

Tenn isn't too far from Ohio.  Ohio has 1 good school and 12,000,000 people.  He could steal a few kids out of there who want warmer weather.......and the best football in the nation.

Just Monte Kiffin for defense instead.  And Kiffin will get plenty of offensive players
Kiffin told Tahj Boyd, #3 dual threat QB, that TN is going in a different direction.  The only reason I think he would do this is if he has a surprise up his sleeve that he isn't telling yet.  No other reason to cut a recruit who could very well play next year with how bad their QB's are.
