Except for Kentucky the rest are big underachievers. Here is a link to the preseason SEC coaches poll. Other polls differed a little but not much. Saw on this list that Diggs was sec 1st team. Man I with he could get it going! 7

Everyone equates success with a championship but there is more to it. There is a lot of luck in getting one. A misplayed ball by 3 guys cost us 1

But would he start over Boogie Fland is the question? (Little portal humor there since I see that get thrown around why we wouldn't get certain guards.) 10
ARHoopScoop's Basketball Recruiting / Re: Kasean pryorLast post by Hawg Red - Today at 10:04:46 pmQuote from: Kris P. Bacon on Today at 09:32:00 pmJust for the sake of generating discussion. What is the point of a silent commit? Especially at this point in the roster building? A silent commit is a player who has been offered a scholarship, could be an unconditional offer or a conditional offer, and has accepted that offer, but for reasons of varying purpose, will not go public with that commitment until a certain time. As for the why of it, could be a number of reasons. Could be Cal isn't ready to have it announced for whatever strategic reason, or because officially accepting the commitment is contingent of something else happen (for example: maybe Cal prefers Coleman Hawkins and wants to get turned down by him first -- just an example, not saying this is the case). Or maybe the player's commitment is contingent on liking campus or the area and needing to visit first but is otherwise wanting to be a part of the coach's program and has agreed to the NIL package offered. Or maybe the recruit wants to commit at a time they feel is right or they may want to continue to reflect and make sure it is the right decision. But, it's likely waiting on the NBA and to visit for Pryor, IMO. So him being a silent commit is essentially saying he wants to play for Cal and the NIL is right but has to check off the other boxes and eliminate others as possibility. But, remember, these coaches do press players to commit, so sometimes a player may say "Alright, coach, I'm in, but can I check out campus first to be double sure before I commit" or "I'm in but can I announce on my grandmother's birthday" or things along those lines. Sometimes it is a special date that none of us would have any knowledge of. |
