I have become a big fan of Grantland and not just for the sports.  Their columns about movies and tv are top shelf.  Now that Simmons is gone what is the future of all this??  It all belongs to ESPN but I listened to the BS report as often as possible and I don't think it will be the same with another host.  Like him or not I think his basketball knowledge was the reason I started with him and then blossomed out to other facets of Grantland.  He will be missed

Most of the writers are under contract and will stay for a while.  I agree, it's top notch.

I hope he goes to Bleacher Report because he would be their featured writer over there and he could do everything he was doing at ESPN and with a probably far bigger leash.

Do you happen to have any rapping skills? I think we could set you up with DJ Khaled and you could make a song entitled, "All I Do Is Bitch"

As long as the writer's on staff stay on it will be fine. I go to Grantland to read guys like Lowe and Barnwell; Simmons stuff has become too repetitive and he's been on one too many tirades for my taste.

But he is an excellent talent evaluator. If the other guys eventually choose to follow Simmons when their contracts run their courses, I don't foresee ESPN doing a bang up job replacing them. Here's an interesting read on ESPN's attempt to follow up Grantland with a similar site aimed at black audiences:

Someone dropped a question on SVP and Russilo before the Simmons thing went public would russillo consider stop the radio gig to work with Simmons or run grantland.  About a day or two later the bill Simmons thing came out

He's not likely to sign on with anyone;  he's much more likely to go to work for himself, or enter into a partnership with other independent writers.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Grantland and 30 for 30 both Simmons work but not property.  I agree with all above.
